We visited here for lunch 2 yrs ago and, although we didn't stay here, we returned for an evening meal when we visited this week. They are totally okay with all the difficulties of cross-contamination that coeliac sufferers have to live with. The surroundings are very relaxed and pleasant, the staff friendly and co-operative of our needs, and the food... More

We spent one night at the Station hotel whilst visiting the border country. Melrose is a charming town, small but has everything a traveller might want. We were greeted by charming Lorraine who showed us to our room on the first floor, carrying one of our bags. The room was large and the en-suite was also large. The bed was... More

Good food warm welcome nice atmosphere, the chips in a bucket is unique touch small bar area but it is a good thing it detracts away from the boozer crowd, so you can relax in a friendly calm experience, staff always polite and attentive

Stayed at the Station Hotel for 2 nights in a comfortable room with a very nice ensuite. So I was very happy with my choice of accomodation until I got my continental breakfast. Stale, tiny croissants, a slice of supermarket ham that was slimy and some packaged grated cheese! Yuck! The second morning I just had coffee (great) and porridge.

Comfortable enough, very friendly staff. No lift and no parking, try the fish and chip place around the back or up the hill opposite. Nice big bathroom with large heated towel rail which made up for the electric mist shower. Oddly a paper bath mat and bring your own toiletries, only shower soap provided. Dinner was so so as was... I stayed here for two weeks on business, I must say, it was very comfortable. The hotel is small and central. The food is lovely, especially the breakfast which will set you up for the day. The beds are comfortable and the showers are very good. There is free wifi. Car parking can be tricky at certain times.

I stayed at this hotel while doing the Sustrans Coast and Castles (NCN 1). For cyclists it really is very convenient as it's situated only a few yards from the route and they store bikes inside overnight. The room and en-suite were were fine - clean and comfortable. Service was both efficient and friendly and the breakfast was good. In... More

The hotel is an old pub hotel, with rooms above and not suitable for people with stair problems. However, I found the rooms lovely and warm, very well proportioned, great for work and in my case an impressive bathroom, clearly very recently refurbished. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast porridge is the real thing (properly cooked with water... More
