I stayed here for two weeks on business, I must say, it was very comfortable. The hotel is small and central. The food is lovely, especially the breakfast which will set you up for the day. The beds are comfortable and the showers are very good. There is free wifi. Car parking can be tricky at certain times.

I stayed at this hotel while doing the Sustrans Coast and Castles (NCN 1). For cyclists it really is very convenient as it's situated only a few yards from the route and they store bikes inside overnight. The room and en-suite were were fine - clean and comfortable. Service was both efficient and friendly and the breakfast was good. In... More

The hotel is an old pub hotel, with rooms above and not suitable for people with stair problems. However, I found the rooms lovely and warm, very well proportioned, great for work and in my case an impressive bathroom, clearly very recently refurbished. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast porridge is the real thing (properly cooked with water... More

In giving a rating for this hotel, the 4 star "Very Good" seemed rather generous whereas the 3 star "Average" didn't seem to fit the bill. I think it was good, but not great. The room was up-to-date and clean but a little on the small side if you were intending to spend a restful evening in the room after... More

We stayed here on Saturday/Sunday night over Easter weekend. First impressions were a bit disappointing, the reception area and stairs felt that they could do with some TLC, but that changed when we saw our room. Everything was co-ordinated and clean and the en suite in particular was great, really good shower. All in all very well decorated. Comfy bed,... More

We arrived 7 of us with 2 dogs. We only visited for dinner but Good food, portions large! Enjoyed our visit and would recommend to anyone travelling with dogs. Melrose itself is a nice small town to visit.

Visited here tonight 28/3/15 for a few drinks with my sister. All staff very friendly. Especially Lorraine. Lovely comfy leather couches. Nice & cosy inside with easy listening background music. We never ate or used the rooms so can't comment on them. Ladies toilet was fresh & clean although replenishing the toilet roll would've been a plus. That honestly is... More

I was staying in the area for 3 nights while working nearby and had looked at a few slightly cheaper hotels in the area, but decided to book here as it looked comfortable. Really glad I did, room was spotless and en-suite large with modern power shower. Don't worry about parking there is plenty near-by and Melrose is a safe... More
