We decided to stay overnight in Melrose on the return from Edinburgh. After enquiring at other hotels this was the most economical for an overnighter. The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly and showed us our room on the 3rd floor. The room was dated but clean and the beds very comfortable. Although the radiator was on, the room stayed... We stopped in this hotel for lunch before visiting Melrose Abbey. The fireplace warmed us up nicely. The food was very tasty, if basic, just the sandwiches were pretty dry. Also the waitress was not really present when we wanted to pay or order more drinks. But very friendly!

We stayed here overnight while my husband was at a reunion party elsewhere in Melrose. We had the 4 person family room. The room was spacious, warm and the beds declared as super comfy by our daughters. One downside is the fact that the room is right beside the WC's for the bar/restaurant so we heard the hand drier quite... More

This is a fantastic local hotel for excellent food. It has a really nice warm & friendly feel making it a welcoming place to visit. We've been a few times & for special celebrations, never disappointed, sticky toffee pudding is a must have!

Had a really pleasant Saturday lunchtime this Valentine's Day after walking from Earlston to Melrose and fancied a drink and some lunch. We then happened to stumble across the King's Arms and were treated to a lovely homemade soup and would definitely visit again for something more substantial. Great local pub.

At almost 3 am for about an hour a neighbor was thumping on his door because he came back late and his wife would not let him in. He argues with another guest. In the end he broke into his room. Reception was not manned at night and no phoned in room to complain bearing in mind it could have... More

I went for a nice family meal to this restaurant to celebrate my sons 13th birthday. To begin with it was very cramped and struggled to get the high chair in a suitable position where people could get by. We then waited 20 minutes for someone to come over and deal with us. in the end I went to find... More

Arrived here on a very cold evening and warmed up quickly thanks to the open fire. A warm welcome also from the cheery Staff. Our order was taken and food arrived quickly given that most of the tables were occupied and also people upstairs in the Function Room. Both our dishes were well presented and very tasty also a very... More

We stayed in Melrose at Harmony Cottage for 7 nights and on 5 nights we had a evening meal at the Kings Head the food was excellent with a good range of starters and main courses and the staff was really great and so helpful.
