I've said all I can in my review title. Having said that due to the staff I'd be willing to go back again. Food was good and we both slept well as the bed was comfy.Melrose is lovely with a good variety of shops considering the size of the town.

The hotel is quite old, so don't expect a boutique room, but it was very comfortable and we had a large bathroom. Our room overlooked the main street, but was quiet, so it must be well insulated. The car park is very small and a difficult turn in from the road. The receptionist was very good and showed us to... More

We went into the Kings Arms after the Townhouse was full and not prepared to make room for 7 diners, but the Kings Arms immediately told us their restaurant was full, but they would accomodate us upstairs if we didn't mind waiting - after about 10 minutes, time to get a drink from the bar, they called us- the table... We chose this hotel as it was the first time staying in a hotel with our young dog. It is described as luxurious, refurbished and dog friendly. It's not!. Our room was large, above the basin in the bathroom there must have been a leak from upstairs, the ceiling was discoloured and sagging. The floor between the twin beds was... More

I have just returned tonight following a family meal with my wife and 3 children. We arrived at 17:30HRS and ordered our food. It took nearly one hour to arrive on our table. The overall quality of the food was poor and most of it was bland and overcooked. We were asked for feedback by the staff serving but they... More

We took my mum for her 81st birthday to this hotel as they did a carvery. However we had to wait about an hour before we got any food. First of all you have to wait for the vegetables to be brought to the table, you then have to queue up for your meat, so by the time you get... More

Our party of six was met by helpful friendly staff. All our rooms were clean and comfortable. The food at both dinner and breakfast was exceptional. We were told that the hotel had recently been taken over by a husband and wife team. They have certainly made an impressive start. If we are ever in the area again we will... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the carvery at this pub in Melrose...perfect for a great value Sunday lunch and at £9.95 reasonably priced for what you get. We went mid afternoon and the meat was slightly dry but plentiful. The accompaniments were fresh and well cooked. Good range of ales and deliciously tempting desserts to which I succumbed! I would recommend and I... More
