Stayed during the sevens weekend when disruption is expected. Dinner great, staff friendly. Breakfast though is poor. Both mornings had to wait for staff to turn up - owner/manager even had to be called to open up. Not going back!

A group of ten of my friends and i had to pre book our orders days in advance of our meal which was a joke. We were in the dowstairs bar and were promted several times to get to our table as 2 of our friends were a whole 8min late! The kitchen were waiting! yet we waited 15 20... More

Expensive for very average bar food. Very limited kids menu and overpriced "everything with chips". The Lasagne was shocking and the burger salsa straight from a jar. No one mentionned the special set menu till after orders taken.

Stayed here last week on business, rooms were OK but the bar was terrible, not what you would require as a business visitor. I would say that its OK for a cheap stay personally but for staying with work, not up to standard, others in our group stayed in different hotels and I would choose one of those. Finally, the... We had a meal here 2 years ago while staying at the WONDERFUL Old Bank House, again we decided to eat here and yet again were not disappointed, the staff are very attentive but not intrusive, my husband stated with the haggis spring rolls which were absolutely delicious, I had the poached haddock for my main while he chose the... Bar - Great, good beers and atmosphere Food - great, good choice, presentation and tasty Rooms OK - could do with a bit of updating, repairing and TLC The acting manager was unaccomodating and miserable - it felt as though we shouldn't be asking for stuff, despite us booking ahead and supplying our 15 dinner meal requirements in advance to... Stayed for one night before starting a walking holiday. Staff friendly and room nice and comfortable if not large. Were advised to book eveningmeal and were glad we did because the place was busy. Bar was also busy. Evening meal excellent and breakfast next morning pretty good too. Great start to our holiday.

This is a genuine review. Booked and paid deposit to stay for two nights. Vacated after one night. On arrival were told how much was owing (before we'd registered) but we refused to pay up front. Were asked what time we'd be down for breakfast. Gave a half hour slot 8am to 8.30am. Faulty light in bathroom meant a change... More
