Found and booked this B&B online. We stayed in Melrose in May of 2015. Found the prices to be fair and comparable to others. The accommodations are clean with all the amenities we needed. The breakfast was choice from yogurt to full cooked traditional Scottish breakfast. Our hosts and owners, Mr. & Mrs. Bell were accommodating, helpful with travel advice... More

Warm welcome, comfortable bed in cosy bedroom, huge breakfast choices both buffet and cooked to order. Plenty of eating places nearby in Melrose for evening meals. A great place to start St Cuthberts Way from.

If you're looking for Sky Sports on the box or 'live' entertainment, this is NOT the place for you! Brian's singing, whilst melodious(?), serves only to detract from Alison's excellent, cooked-to-order breakfast. A veritable feast is laid before you each morning- all fresh, all tempting. The rooms are very comfortable and warm; great hot shower, resident hairdryer - peace and... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to review Dunfermline House, Chris and Robert. I love it that you are such gluttons for punishment!! We really appreciate the humour, you need to wait around a couple more hours and Bryan would have had an answer back!!!! Great to see you again. Alison More

An excellent B&B. The proprietors are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good size and well appointed. The shower is excellent. Location is very good. Melrose is a nice wee town, and there are plenty of eateries within about 3 minutes walk. Very good walking country. The breakfasts are great. There is the usual stuff and usual Scottish... More

This was a nice little B&B in a really nice little town on the Scottish borders. Melrose is a cute place and Dunfermline House is one street back from the main street and about 100 metres from the abbey entrance. It's very well-located yet still fairly quiet. The hosts are very friendly and breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Parking was... More

I was traveling with 3 other people on a 7 day walking trip. All of us agreed that this was our favorite stop! The place was charming, comfortable, and cute. The owners were very nice and had great suggestions for dinner. Breakfast was perfect!

My partner and I have now stayed here 3 times for short walking breaks. The rooms are always comfy and immaculate, with more than the normal amount of no-charge items such as bottled water and toothbrush, as well as tea, coffee etc. Little touches that make a difference. The breakfasts are magnificent with a large selection of cooked items, as... More

Just left yesterday, 17th November, after another delightful stay for 3 nights b/b. The bed and breakfast is really like a home from home. Mr and Mrs Bell are a charming couple who will... More

Stayed at this B&B for 5 nights whilst fishing the River Tweed. Comfortable, quiet single room. Excellent breakfasts. Located in the centre of Melrose with convenient parking close by. Easy to walk to everything in the attractive small town.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review Dunfermline House. We are always keen to know that our guests are happy, more fish in the river might have helped, but we have no control over that. Thanks again for your positive feedback. Alison More
