We got an excellent deal for two nights DBB here, the food was fantastic, also one of the best breakfasts I've had, comfortable, clean rooms, nice quirky hotel - all in all we had a really pleasant stay here on an excellent value for money deal and I'd recommend it. It's also well located for drives out around the borders... More

We needed to be in Edinburg early so decided to use a special offer we got from Travelzoo. Whilst Hawick isn't the most thriving town, the hotel was set back up a drive on the outskirts of the town. The meals were great and breakfast too. Good value for what we received.

Stayed here for three nights as part of a 14-stong film crew at the beginning of August, so basically we took over the whole hotel. Not much to complain about in general until we had got very wet on the second day. I arrived back about 4.30 with very wet clothing and sound equipment and needed to dry out everything... More

What a find, great location for touring the Borders and the Coastal towns like Eyemouth and Berwick upon Tweed. The staff were exceptional, especially Rachel. The cooked breakfast set you up for the rest of the day, and the evening meal was very well cooked and presented. Will be back again

We stayed here on 30 july for one night, lovely building, room was very comfortable alas it was down below ground which seemed a bit strange, the food was fantastic both evening meal and breakfast , only 5 mins drive from Hawick city centre The young girls who were working were very friendly.

Stayed for 3 nights and had a really relaxing time. The room and bathroom had everything you could want. The staff were very busy but always pleasant and helpful, nothing too much trouble. The choice of food was good and always cooked well and very nicely presented. Made the mistake of having the full Scottish breakfast on the first morning,... More

The building is lovely with many original features and a very nice garden. Our bedroom was small and non descript but had everything you need. The bathroom looked newly done and was very nice with a clever design to make the most of the small space. The staff were very nice but were overworked as there appeared to be only... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Mansfield House Hotel is situated in approximately 10 acres of established grounds on the outskirts of Hawick, the largest of the Border towns famous for the Common Riding, rugby and knitwear. The house was originally the private home of the Oliver family built in 1870. These entreprenneurs of the new industrial age tastefully influenced the many distinctive architectural features, from the thistle and rose ceilings in the lounge and reception areas, to the Russian pine shutters, skirtings and doors throughout the main house. ... more   less
