My visit was lovely and the food excellent. Hotel and location very good and shall definitely be back again soon. A nice large breakfast and friendly staff make this one to remember. Plenty of good parking and the grounds are a nice walk if you have time to go for a wander. Upstairs rooms are larger than downstairs but they... More

Stayed at the Mansfield for two nights over the duration of my sons wedding. We arrived on Friday night and enjoyed a lovely meal in the hotel bar. We were well taken care of by the very friendly and hard working manager and his equally hard working staff. Emma particularly went out her way and nothing was too much bother... More

We booked a two night stay on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast deal at the Mansfield House Hotel for a Sunday and a Monday night. Arriving late afternoon, we were welcomed by Karen and found our room - No 3 - well appointed, with a front view out over part of Hawick. The gardens, though very steep, are well established... Whow what a beautiful house very well renovated fantastic decor carpets curtains of all the best quality. We had a lovely big room at the front with fantastic bathroom all cleaned and polished beautifully. Staff were very friendly but sorry to say no hotel training at all (I did own a hotel for 9yrs) No one to talk you through... More

Chose this hotel as a stopover on the way to the Lake District simply from its Trip Advisor ratings. We were not disappointed. It was good to see that while being 'modernised' to suit hotel needs most of the original features had been maintained. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the house. We will use it... More

Built 1870 as a house & converted into a pleasant, comfortable 3* hotel, retaining many original features. For a 3* hotel this was excellent - clean, good sized bedroom, nice public rooms & pleasant friendly staff. Food was good, especially breakfast (good choice of dishes). Drinks prices very reasonable. Lovely grounds, well kept. About 20min walk along the riverside to... More

A nice place for older people (like us!) ,but there is no lift. The 19th century house has been converted to a quiet comfortable hotel with modern en suite bathrooms (or with shower rather a bath). A function room has been added next to the bar. There is a lounge and a nice dining room. Interesting garden with grass slopes... More

We stayed here a couple of nights just on a bed and breakfast basis. Hotel is a lovely old building and sits above the town with good views. We did have a smaller room at the back as we were on a deal, but the room and shower room were very clean and had everything you would need. It did... More

Great position overlooking the edge of town . Clean and comfortable with a very impressive dining room. Although the evening dinners were only average, the breakfasts were some of the best we have had.
