We stayed here overnight in October 2011 when I was bridesmaid at a friends wedding. We found the room to be comfortable and suited to our needs but perhaps a bit overpriced. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and the house itself is quite grand, but I did feel the rooms could do with some updating ( I realise... More

This was our second visit to the Mansfield and still can't praise it enough. The room was excellent, lovely double fourposter, the room was huge and well decorated. We ate in the restaurant and the food and service were great. The bar had been renovated since our last stay. There wasn't much wrong with it but it is so much... More

On arrival I was shown to my room (room 11) the room was big with a large kingsized bed (two singles together) but unfortunately the decor of the bedroom let it down, very old and shabby; there was a panelled wall that the TV was on and this was hanging off at the bottom. The windows were draughty which made... More

t This hotel has so much to offer - beautiful setting in a great location, nice rooms, and well cared for gardens. such a pity that the service does not match. While the staff are friendly, the less than professional service and mediocre presentation and delivery of an uninspired menu does not impress. Staff are less than attentive to the... More

Made a blind call to this hotel on way north. Nice location above Hawick. Quiet unenthusiastic welcome but shown to clean and spacious room- warm and very comfortable with good ensuite. eating -bar had a few people in and we chose to eat in pretty and well decorated restaurant. We were the one ones in, so thought service should be... More

Recently very well redecorated almost thoughout to create a smart, period yest still warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everywhere very clean. Food at diinner and breakfast was first class and prices reasonable for the fayre offered.... More

We stayed for one night only - a very dank, windy one too and were glad to get inside! Not many people staying and it all felt a little cold and empty. The room (no 1) was large and double aspect, but a little bare and felt somewhat cold (no heating on). We ate in the bar - good choice... More

We stayed at this lovely hotel, were welcolmed, room was a class above as was dining room and all interior. Grounds well kept. Food was excellent, well prepared, served promptly . The staff were all very nice. The hotel is off the road, about 100 metres, so no traffic noise. More

The Mansfield House Hotel is a glorious manor house situated in a majestic position overlooking the beautiful town of Hawick. The hotel is run by some very nice people, especially Rebecca and Katrin Glorious rooms, with fantastic showers and excellent furniture. The food is really good, but wait until you reach the bar ! They have the usual drinks available,... More
