We ate at the Kingsknowes for the first time on Saturday night whilst passing through Galashiels and the food was amazing; fabulously generous portions, beautifully cooked, extremely tasty and service was excellent. It really was delicious and was value for money. The waitresses were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. The cheap looking wooden flower on the table, tatty... More

A gem of a hotel. Staff were a happy, friendly bunch. Lovely views with the river Tweed close by. The cook was excellent with both breakfast and evening meals- superb, dieting needed now! The room was spacious and very clean. Liked the window opener... An unpretentious block of wood! Highly recommended.

We arrived here via another B&B that was booked out. Tracy, who booked us in, could not have been any more helpful. She even got another staff member to carry our (heavy) bag which was totally unexpected. Her friendliness and sense of humor as really nice to experience. The room we had was 26 which was on the top floor.... More

Booked into this hotel as the usual B&B we stay in was fully booked. We were very pleasantly surprised with the size of the rooms, decor and quality of service at this hotel. The rooms and public spaces were spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection on offer. The only thing... More

First of all I have to congratulate all the staff who worked indefatigably throughout my son's wedding reception, Nothing was left unattended, As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the staff who genuinely had our interests at heart, this was overall feeling by all the guests. The food throughout the day and night was simply wonderful, served most... More

.For the past four weeks on and off I have been working away from home and staying at the Kingsknowes hotel and each time I leave I am looking forward to the next time that I visit. This is a family run hotel and from the moment you walk in you can tell, the staff are incredible, and are the... More

We didn't stay here, but what a find! We were driving from one place to another on our 2-week trip in Scotland when we saw the sign for this castle hotel. We pulled in to see what we could see and ended up having tea on the front lawn with a most gorgeous view of the lake. It was a... More

Good place to stay for a visit to the Borders. Room 18 is perfect for a family of four: huge master bed room, small twin room, good beds, good bathroom. Nice garden and conservatory for the afternoon and to have diner. Also the bar is a nice place to have diner. Good food, fair prices. A place we would recommend.... More

Stayed here for one night on way North, phoned ahead as travelling with dog to make sure he would be welcome, asked specifically where he would and would not be allowed, we are aware not everyone wants to be with our dog, was assured he would be allowed in the conservatory so decided to stay as he would be able...
