Lovely cosy and homely inn. We came for a bar lunch fresh and tasty we all enjoyed. We can recommend for a family trip to the beautiful borders. Traditional hotel with lots of character will come back and maybe stay a night too.

We stayed for one night on Saturday as we were going to see a band in Galasheils. The hotel was perfect for what we needed. The room was perfect, really big and spacious and clean, the room had Sky TV as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Staff all very friendly and the breakfast in the morning was very... More

We arrived on time for Christmas lunch but had a 30 minute wait as our table was not yet ready, we waited happily in the bar. When shown to our table we waited about another 30 minutes for our starter. The service was slow but there were only two waiting staff on (some staff didn't turn up). The service was... More

Stayed here over Christmas and had a fabulous time. Meeting up with family and ate on two occasions. Room was well presented and cosy and staff looked after our every need. Service was excellent and could not fault the food. Steak Burger was delightful on first night and then had the traditional steak and ale pie second night. Mmm. Will... More

My partner and I decided to have Christmas lunch out for the first time ever. We booked a month in advance and had to order our food 3 weeks before the due date. Christmas day arrived. We were there on time. Alas, our starter was served 40 minutes after sitting down at our table. And it was inedible. The main... More

Nice rooms, very good food and a very friendly pub downstairs. What more could you ask for? On nice days they have sitting available out in front near what is considered the town square. A bit out of the way, but sometimes that's a good thing.

We had lunch here on Saturday 30/08/14 and I have to admit on first entering the premises I thought oh no. Looked like your typical little pub. There was no one else in and this immediately made my think to turn around but we didnt and Im glad. Staff were vern nice and my partner said the steak pie was... More

This is a large, dominant building in a rapidly growing community in the Scottish borders. It is fine on the outside and warm and homely on the inside. The room was good as was both dinner and breakfast and the young staff did an excellent job despite being short-staffed. The decor was, as others have commented,a little shabby here and there,...
