Booked in on Christmas Eve for two nights. Nobody greeted me with a 'warm Border's welcome' on arrival despite ringing the bell for about 10 mins. The owners were at the supermarket. Phoned them and was told to go to my room. Later asked about arrangements for getting back in and was told the door would be open. Arrived back... More

Just returned from a weekend staying in Binniemyre in Galashiels. As I own a B & B in Ireland, my expectations were very high. Binniemyre and our hosts Bill and Carol exceeded my expectations. The house was old and beautifully decorated and maintained. The welcoming heat from the stove when you entered the house added to the comfort and the... More

My son and I booked in late and the owner booked us an evening meal in town and drove us to it, which was fab. We had the last twin room in the attic which small but still had storage, tea with biscuits and fresh bottled water. Breakfast was fresh cooked to order and very tasty... remember to try their... The B&B is located in a good location especially with the new railway line which takes you to Edinburgh in an hour. The staff are very friendly. The only disappointment the continential breakfast was only included in the price, it did not state this in the booking when I made the booking. With all other B&B's this breakfast includes a... Lovely old building with some unusual features. Like plaster ducks on the wall in the breakfast room. I counted 68, but I could have been wrong. Excellent choices for the included continental breakfast. One of the best I have seen in a B and B. Wouldn't bother with the cooked breakfast at £8 per person extra. Room was a bit... More

The place is absolutely lovely. We were guests in a large room with a huge snooker table in the center. The view of the room is absolutely stunning. You may feel really free to move and every detail is carefully managed. If the large amount of antiques that is housed in this guesthouse was placed elsewhere, it would result in... More

My husband and I made a booking through Booking.com having first looked at reviews on here and seen that overall the Binniemyre had good reviews. Based on these we booked up. When we arrived, the owner told us he had over booked by several rooms and was having problems. He confided that if he could have, he would've cancelled our... More

Traveling as a single parent with three teens on a months long journey Binniemyre was a perfect place for us. Stayed in the family room and the kids loved the billiard table. I loved the great beds and the big space for us all to stretch out. Bill was very communicative throughout our whole reservation and upon our checkin. He... More

Travelled up to Galashiels to meet family for Gala Day. The hotel was not too far from town, only a 15-20 minute walk. Only met Bill who was very friendly, the room was very comfy and though not en-suite we had the use of two bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice to set you up for the day.To some...
