Roseneath Guesthouse was the perfect jumping off point for time in Oban. Sarah (the hostess) provided delicious breakfast every morning, clean comfortable accommodations, and facilitated a friendly atmosphere among the guests. She had great advice about what to do around town and journeys to the surrounding islands. She even provided umbrellas for guests caught in the rain! Overall, a great... More

We had a wonderful relaxed long weekend in Oban staying at the Roseneath Guest House. We felt very welcomed, the environment was very relaxed and cozy atmosphere! The hostess was brilliant, providing a very good breakfast service and always obliged with tips and suggestions! Definitely recommend it!

We spent two nights at Roseneath and enjoyed it very much. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent! Sarah, the owner, is delightful and has an amazing knowledge of the area. We wished that we could have spent much longer in her company but our time in Oban was limited. We would certainly stay there again.

We stayed at Roseneath for a week at the end of the season. We'd only been planning on staying for four days, but it was so charming and freindly that we asked to stay for longer, and luckily they were able to accomodate us. The front rooms have a beautiful view of the bay. Surprisingly, there is very little noise... More

Roseneath is in a great location situated halfway up a hill. The landmark McCaig's Tower is just a short walk up the hill with down town Oban harbour a short walk down the hill. Nice restaurant called Room 9 is about a 1 minute walk down toward Oban harour and a good fish 'n chip shop, Norries, is just a... More

When we arrived at Roseneath Guest House, we were greeted by a young man who promptly showed us the ropes and took us to our room, which was located on the top floor. He warned us that the wi-fi might be spotty, and he mentioned that the hot water was turned off during the day, but that if we needed... More

Having driven from London two nights spent at the Roseneath with Sarah was a welcome relief. The room was well appointed, clean and warm. The best part was the breakfast. The black pudding was highlight. The Roseneath is great little place to stay and Sarah the perfect host.

We stayed at this B & B for a couple of nights while touring Scotland and it was perfect! The location was excellent and the view from our room was beautiful. Sarah was a perfect hostess and made us feel very welcome. The rooms are a little dated and the bathroom a bit small, but everything was clean; the bed... More

Not sure how this B&B has such a high approval rating. Bedroom was small, cramped and dirty. Breakfast was awful, bland and tasteless. The owner is totally batty. The location was really good, but that is it.

A very average stay. The cons: dusty room with tired decor. Edges of carpet desperately needed cleaning. Also, the room was not properly readied. All towels were not stocked in our room, and the previous guest's soap was still in the dish in the shower. Very ratty towels with strings hanging off. The most disappointing thing, however, was that our... More
