Excellent ambiance and very homely ! Proximity to the city centre - just about 3-5 mins walk from the city centre. The hostesses of the guest house, Sarah and her son Robert are extremely warm and caring to their guests. Due to my schedule, I could not have breakfast on the second day but Sarah was very kind to give... More

Roseneath is centrally located in Oban, short walk from the station, slightly up the hill so great views. Sarah the owner is delightful and very helpful with loads of ideas for trips. Place is spotlessly clean, well run and breakfast is cooked to order. Free Wifi. Certainly value for money and perfect for exploring the local area either on foot... More

On checking in, Sarah not only remembered me from previous visits but presented me with a mobile phone charger which I'd left here on my last visit two years ago! This is a lovely, friendly b&b with not much of a bad word to say about it. Comfortable, friendly, good breakfasts. The only minor gripe might be that (in Room... More

Waited a long time to book this holiday. Been thinking of going to Oban for years. Booked the Roseneath for 3 nights and must have picked the best 3 days weather they have ever had. Glorious. Landlady is totally bonkers and absolutely the perfect person to run a B&B. Gave us loads of tips on where to eat and where... More

Our stay at Roseneath started with our airline misplacing our luggage and a late arrival ... No trouble for Jane our host. The room was part of a renovated police station. It was long and spacious and a long way from a cold night in a cell! The decor was tasteful and the room restful after 24 hrs in a... More

Warmly welcomed by Sarah. Lovely room, comfortable bed in a grand old house with beautiful cornicing, unfortunately a full house so had a room at rear without fantastic views of oban bay but didn't detract from our enjoyment. Breakfast 5 star, lots to choose from, had Highland breakfast 2 mornings, cooked 2 perfection with the most delicious local ingredients, I... More

We were fortunate to stay in room 3 and had a brilliant view of the bay and great windows to open up to breathe in some of the fresh air! Sarah was outstanding and was always available to shed some information on local points of interest. The breakfast was nothing short of excellent! We have been visiting the UK for... More

First of all Oban Scotland is one of the most charming towns I've ever been to...and that's saying plenty. Roseneath is nestled up on the hill overlooking the town of Oban and is a lovingly cared for guest house. We were greeted by Sarah and even though we were several hours early she stowed our bags for us so that... More

For the price the location is excellent. Try for front rooms with a view. Good wifi, free parking , short walk to restaurants and ferry. Good place from which to take a day trip to Staffa island via Mull and Iona.
