We were welcomed with a pot of fresh coffee and biscuits in the garden suite. Very quiet, bright, comfortable three rooms which were warmed for the Autumn evenings. Catherine is a delightful host providing a varied breakfast choice (I loved the porridge, scrambled egg with smoked salmon). There were fresh flowers in each of the immaculately clean rooms and you... More

Ariogan Farmhouse is a Bed and Breakfast of the highest standard, which is run by a lovely lady, Catherine Murphy. The farmhouse is located a couple of miles south of Oban town centre in a pleasant rural setting. The accommodation is very well kept and is decorated to a high standard. The beds are very comfortable and ensuites are spotlessly... More

on 27/7 my husband and I drove from Loch Lomond to Oban and couldn't find a place to stay - we happened upon Ariogan just outside Oban and were delighted. Cath was an amazing hostess and our accommodation was generous - a three room suite with private dining! We have no hesitation in recommending this guest house and have indeed... More

We stayed here for two nights last September on a return visit to Scotland from Australia. Cath gave us a lovely reception.on our arrival, we had pre booked the garden room, The only fault we had was the bed was a bit hard I kept rolling over on the iron sides of the bed. I think once they purchase a... More

We last minute booked a central oban hotel to find when we arrived that it had been double booked. We were offered a family room in the Ariogan Farm House which turned out to be the find of the year. We were greeted by Catherine and shown to our room which we found to be extremely comforable and imaculate. Everything... More

My husband & I only stayed here one night but were very pleased with our accommodations. The rooms was very bright, cheery and comfortable. Once we were settled in Cathy brought us pot of tea while we decided where we might have dinner. She suggested a local place and also provided a map and directions. She was also very flexible... I arrived at this b 7 b and was greeted with 'we are actually closed but as you had previously booked we have put you in an annexe to the house'. The annexe had a sitting room, bedroom and separate shower room. The furniture was dated and the bed was very hard and I found it uncomfortable and I felt... More

I am sorry to learn of your low review of our establishment. When you arrived you were given an upgrade to our garden suite at no extra cost to you and is all part of the same building not an annexe. The Mattress on the bed was less than a year old and of high quality and we have not had... More

We stay at Ariogan on our return every year from Colonsay. The ferry only gets in at 9.45 but Cathy does not mind waiting up for us. The house is spotless and very well furnished and nothing is too much trouble for Cathy. The breakfast is excellent too. All in all, excellent and very good value.

Cath took care of us helping in finding a table in a restaurant in Oban upon our arrival. The breakfast was excellent and Cath was very warm and friendly with our children.... More
