Well what can i say that has not already been said. Thankfully in this day of the internet you can find out what somewhere is like before you go there by reading the reviews. No doubt there are some people in life who will never be happy it doesnt matter what you do for them. As my wife used to...

Could not have recieved a nicer welcome. Lovely B&B with views. Super room, very comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast - more choice than you can imagine. Perfect location for the town. Very helpful hosts - giving loads of advice about Oban and sight seeing.
We stayed at The Strathnaver Guest House from 20 August until 1 September 2011 during which time we enjoyed exceptional friendliness and hospitality from our hosts John and Irene Mackay. Nothing was too much trouble for them and when they learned of the nasty fall my husband had on the Isle of Kerrera, further injuring an already damaged knee, John...

Excellent location with great views from our room and very close (easy walking distance) to town. Was very easy to find, as just off main road into Oban to town and plenty of private parking. Very substantial and tasty breakfast. Comfortable and homely bedroom with grood view. Enjoyed having use of very spacious TV lounge which has fantastic views to...

We could not disagree more with the previous reviewer. We think our time at Strathnaver would have overlapped with them and our experience was the total opposite (we stayed for 5 nights). This is a wonderful B&B. We stayed in room number 4 which had an en suite, it was a large, comfortable and spotlessly clean room. The house is situated...

VERY BAD and NEVER AGAIN:
1, very cramped room and the en suite was very small there is more room in an airplane toilet.
2, paper thin walls could hear everything from next door.
3, breakfast very poor choice.
4, very cold owner knew I was out fishing all day came back soaked to find no central heating on and...

This guest was part of a group of four, booked in for 3 nights. What he neglected to say is that they left the accommodation at 7PM on their final night after having use of the bedroom all day! Normal check out is 10AM which is stated in the information folder in the bedroom and is normal practice in most...

Easy to find with plenty of parking on the main approach to Oban, we were made most welcome, heavy suitcase was carried to our room. Our room was on the ground floor and had a very nice outlook. Everything was as you would expect and we both enjoyed a hearty breakfast. Mine hosts recommendation of the local Indian hit the...

Friendly staff and clean well equipped room but would try somewhere else next time to try find a gem. The decor is a bit dated but its all in good order and that doesn't bother me, breakfast was however a let down. Maybe its because I have stayed at some really good ones recently but this was lacking.
This is a very clean & comfortable guest house where we were made to feel at home by Irene and her husband. My wife and i wanted a short break away and this was ideal for both of us. Even though the weather was not as good as it could have been Irene gave us quite a few options with...
