We arrived in the early evening in the midst of a wild storm. Mark and Suzanne were wonderfully warm and welcoming and got us settled in immediately. Although it is obviously an old building, our room was modern, clean and spacious. We headed back into Oban for our dinner and watched the sheets of rain through the windows of the... more

With waves crashing against the shore and winds whipping across the grey skies, Dun na Mara provided a welcome refuge on our arrival. Once inside, the muted tones and stylish furnishings brought to mind a boutique hotel, and in this spectacular location, you could expect to pay boutique hotel prices. We stayed in one of the large sea-view rooms, benefiting... more

Unfortunutly we write this review 1 year after we stayed at the Dun Na Mara. That this was the highlight of our 3 week trip to Europe and we didn't write a review until now is unacceptable considering how amazing Mark & Suzanne were during our stay. We think of our room and our view of the sea often. We... more

We stayed for three nights at the Dun na Mara, and wished we could have stayed much longer. The house is situated at the end of a long driveway and has its own private beach and garden area, the only thing we could hear were the waves breaking on the beach, and the sea gulls- a great escape from the... more

Once again, Suzanne and Mark made our stay at Dun Na Mara perfect. The spot is nothing short of Idylic, the house is beautiful, tranquil, and retains it's A1 condition. The hosts are warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful without being intrusive, they have the balance just right. Breakfast is a delight. A little gem. more

What a stunning guesthouse. We stayed in one of the seaview rooms which had spectacular views, which was well worth the extra cost. The rooms are very spacious, with a very comfortable king size bed and a massive bathroom with a great bath and power shower. Both the bedroom and bathroom overlook the Loch. The host was very accommodating with... more

One knows how this will be as you approach on the long private drive with the beach immediately below and as the house becomes visible. It stands alone above the beach in good gardens leading down. We stayed in a sea view room which added to the experience as we could sit in bed watching the islands across the bay.... more

We stayed at Dun Na Mara for one night on our way to the Highlands for our Honeymoon. Amazing location looking out over Ardmucknish Bay towards Mull. The garden runs along the shingle beach, with some benches in the garden to let you relax and enjoy the view. The whole house was very clean, crisp and minimal, with no fuss... more

My fiance and I stayed here for one night in February 2007 while visiting Oban. I had done my research on tripadvisor before we booked and had therefore high expectations for Dun na mara. As usual my fellow reviewers were spot on because this place is unbelievable and deserves 6 stars not 5. When we drove up to Oban it... more

We stayed here before an early sailing to Mull. This is a fantastic wee find – a Unique, luxurious place to stay with a beautiful setting overlooking the water. Dun Na Mara is extremely peaceful, warm and friendly. It is exceptionally modern yet warm, Charming, and full of character. Having stayed in many hotels around the world this is the... more
