What a fantastic find. The attention to detail is amazing and all your needs are catered for. Lots of wee personal touches too. Excellent choices for breakfast and plenty of everything if you opt for the full cooked breakfast.. My friend was over from Oz and we each had a 4 poster bed to ourselves, pure luxury. Lovely hosts, so... more

This is a fabulous B&B. The hosts, Bob and Julie, did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. We stayed in the Campbell room which was cosy, and spotlessly clean. The ensuite bathroom appeared to be brand new. There was a massive choice for breakfast, which was superbly presented and cooked. All in all, we could not fault... more

This is a fabulous place to stay . Julie & Bob make you feel 'at home'. The stairs are a challenge but give you the appetite you need to eat their 'fantastic' breakfasts! Nothing is too much trouble . They are so helpful and have great local knowledge . The location is perfect , a short walk from all shops... more

We stayed at Briarbank as a stopping off place on our way up to the Highlands. First impressions - a bit worried about not parking next to the B&B, but just across the road. Have to climb 60 steps to get up to Briarbank so not suitable for 'infirm' - Julie states this in her info. Once there made very... more

Briarbank, although reached after a number of steps, is a really lovely place to stay. (You have a wee dram waiting for you to help you get your breath back!) The room we stayed in (MacDonald) was simply beautiful. The location was well within walking distance to Oban's amenities. Above everything else it was the host's attention to detail and... more

A great little guesthouse. Within easy reach of Oban town centre. Great attention to detail, right down to the large dram of whisky on arrival. They thoroughly deserve their 4 star status. The brilliant sunshine was an added bonus! more

You need to be strong in wind and limb to stay at the Briarbank - the word 'bank' in it's name is not a joke! It's at the top of a very steep path, but don't let that put you off, it is the most welcoming place I have ever stayed in. Julie and Bob attended to our every need,... more
