We planned a 3 day break away as heard Oban was lovely. We loved Oban and the people were friendly but the hotel was very disappointing. It smelt stale and of cigarette smoke. There was a stale smell throughout the hotel. Our cental heating radiator didn't work in our room so we had a 1960's relic of a plug-in radiator to heat the room (this is February in Scotland!) TV did not work, beds were small and the plastic sheeting rustled throughout the night. The shower was a drip and impossible to use.... more

Though some staff were friendly others left a lot to be desired. The room in which we stayed was extremely noisy (loud street noise and party goers in the hotel), beds uncomfortable with an uneven mattress and the bathroom was tiny. The rooms were very dated and shabby. Definitely not value for money. Better choices to be had in Oban. more

Don't stay here. The exterior of the hotel belies the general tattiness and tiredness of its interior. My daughter and myself stayed here last year and the accommodation could have been better. Room was along many corridors and smelt of smoke. In house video was a marathon to get sorted out, up and down the above mentioned corridors several times before successfaul.
