Tripadvisor contributors spoke highly of this upmarket B&B - and I was not disappointed. It is an attractive, well-kept and stylish property in the best part of Oban overlooking the sea but away from the noise of the town. Proprietor Graeme welcomed me and showed me to a fine twin room on the ground room. No view but it was... more

This is a funny place - it was neither friendly or unfriendly. We didn't get a sea view but we weren't disappointed with the huge room that was really a suite. The room had recently been caringly refurbished with good quality furnishings and a large walk-in shower. After our first encounter with Agnes, we warmed to this little funny lady... more

After reading the Tripadvisor reviews we booked 3 nights at the Glenburnie as part of a Highlands and Islands tour of Scotland. We were met by Graeme, an excellent and unobtrusive host, who carried our luggage up to our room on the first floor. We'd booked a first floor, double, sea view room - and were given a large room... more

The Glenburnie is ideally located for a stroll into the town. As people have said, the rooms are excellent. They are large, clean and modern. The rest of the house has retained some of its original character which gives it an overall querky but pleasant feel. Graeme, the owner, is extremely helpful without being intrusive. I would say this gives... more

We were very pleased to get a room here at the last minute, after we had been let down by another guest house. I booked from the local (very helpful) Tourist Information Office, a little nervous as I usually like to do some research! However, we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Beautiful, modern room. Very comfortable and great... more

Graeme, the hotel owner, is wonderful. When we arrived we mentioned going to Iona. Graeme asked if we had made reservations on the Oban to Craigmore ferry. OOPS! He immediately went inside, called the ferry company, found out what trips were still available and made a tentative booking for us. We had a ferry trip scheduled and paid for in... more

My wife and I have just returned home from a four day stay at the Glenburnie. What can we say????? The hotel is fab and just a 10 minute walk into the town. Our room was huge and spotless, with fantastic views over the harbour. The breakfast was immense and certainly set us up for the day. However, Agnes was... more

I booked Glenburnie after checking TRIP ADVISOR, and sure enough, it proved to be a well run, welcoming establishment. Great location - a short coast walk to the ferry terminal and the main shopping area. Breakfast is the best you'll find anywhere. Owner was very helpful, and Agnes, our morning waitress, was a real star. Very good value. Recommended. more

Our family had two non-connecting rooms located behind a fire door on the second floor. The front room had an amazing view of the water. Fantastic breakfast, especially watching the "character of a waitress" in action. Both rooms were quite big and each had a bathroom. Graeme, the proprietor, was very helpful in terms of restaurant choices, etc. The hotel... more

A family gathering at the Glenburnie was booked by my auntie and as we have never stayed at such a wee place before, admit that we were a little apprehensive. However, the bedrooms were all tastefully decorated, some with magnificent views out to the bay. All the beds had teddy bears on them, which the kids loved! The lounge was... more
