We stayed at this hotel as part of a small group (15 people) as part of a trip round Scotland , for 3 nights. The location is perfect as it is close to the ferry terminal and right in the centre of town but whoever owns this hotel should be ashamed of gross neglect of what could/should be a prize... More

Firstly, the weather was fantastic, which will have no doubt helped. The hotel is ideal for rail and ferry travel, almost no car parking available, we were lucky and got parked at the side of the hotel, not guaranteed. Room ok, good view accross the pier. Not fabulous facilities, but comfortable and clean. We were B&B, which we were glad... More

Stayed in the Caledonian for 2 nights in May. This Victorian hotel must have been nquite a lady in its day but it is now looking quite tired. A touch of paint might improve things and the manual door lift really gives the game away. Overall, the stay was fine and good value but don't expect too much.

The hotel is in a very handy location, asked for a sea view which was great the only thing was the bus stop was below our window so if it wasnt local buses it was coaches dropping off, i understand this is an old building but there are very creaky floor boards on all floors and were woken up by... The staff at this Hotel were extemely friendly and couldn't be more helpful especially the lady on Reception. This Hotel is central and well located. The room was lovely and well appointed with a view over the bay And the breakfast was varied and delicious.

My partner and I stayed for 4 days. Lovely room on third floor with view over the bay. Could not fault the staff, very friendly and helpful. Only downside was that the lift was out order for 3 days and not being that fit it was a case of once down stay down. We would certainly stay here again

My partner and I stayed for a two night break at the end of April, the hotel decor was a bit tired and dated however, the room was large and comfortable. We had a dinner deal on both nights and the food, wine and service was very good. There was loads to choose from for breakfast from cereal to a... More

Stayed here in March 2011 before ferrying to the beautiful Isle of Mull. Room tiny and to describe as rustic would be generous. Free wifi only available in hotel lobby. Free meal with our deal but hotel restaurant empty. Dismal dining experience. Location central and room clean but hotel basic, tired and shabby. Part sea view but sash windows very... More

Booked a single night on dinner bed and breakfast basis as I had job in town. No parking! First mistake I made when booking the room using our works travel agents. There was no parking near the reception so by the time I checked in it was 9pm. Eventually found a parking space outside the hotel on the road, by... More
