It was our second stay at Avoncraig last August. I've experienced a lot of b&b's in that are, but never anything that great! Fiona's hospitality simply remains unsurpassed! We can't think of any rating other than "excellent"! Don't forget to try her home made jams,... Marvellous setting, right next to McCaig's Tower. We can't wait staying there again! Fiona, you're... We had two delightful nights at Avoncraig. The bedroom and bathroom were very nice, and as the house is single storey, no stairs to navigate with bags. The view is superb and it would have been easy to tarry there all morning watching the activity in the port. Fiona does a great breakfast with a wonderful array of home cooked... More

We felt instantly welcome upon our arrival at Avoncraig! The facilities were nothing short of superb with lovely views over Oban Bay. Fiona and Stuart were fantastic hosts and made us feel like part of the family. We would thoroughly recommend Fiona's cooked breakfast!

We only stayed with Fiona at Avoncraig for one night but were made to feel welcome straight away. We had the double room at the front of the house which has a great view over the harbour and is ideal for ferry watching. The room was comfortable and equipped to a very high standard. Breakfast was delicious and we particularly... More

Fiona made us very welcome at very short notice because of cancellation of ferry due to bad weather. Excellent accommodation, comfy bed, beautiful view out over Oban and near to the McCaig Tower. As the heading implies - look no further for superb porridge, the best we have tasted on our trips through Scotland and the islands! The breakfast choice... More

We stayed for 3 nights and it was my 1st experience of BB and must say it was excellent, would definitley stay here again. Very clean and comfortable, plently of hot water. Only 5 mins from the centre albeit a slight hill! Lovely views over harbour. Directions were easy to follow and Fiona was friendly, providing both dining and excursion... More

Fiona made us very welcome and gave us information about places to eat. Room was lovely and clean with good facilities. A bit tricky to find, but sat nav got us there no problem. (Fiona had sent us good directions as well). Lovely breakfast in a room overlooking the bay. Loved the home made fruit compote and five different jams... More

We stayed 1 night at the b&b and found it very clean and comfortable, at breakfast you can find homemade jams and compote which was lovely. The morning we were leaving it was very wet and windy Fiona left us at the bus stop, very helpful thank you Fiona. We got a taxi to the b&b as it is at... More

We spent 2 nights in Oban en route to Mull for a short break. Fiona welcomed us to Avoncraig and had provided spot on directions to the b&b which was just as well as it's off the beaten track but worth it for the magnificent views over Oban and Loch Linnhe. Avoncraig is a nice clean b&b and very convenient... More

Thanks for taking the time to post your warm hearted review. What you've said is exactly how I would describe staying at Avoncraig myself. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your time on the West Coast and that the weather was at least reasonable! Fiona More

Fiona is a welcoming host who takes pride in offering a high quality (and filling) breakfast and a very comfortable room with a great view. Watching the lights come on in Oban and the ferries come and go was a lovely way to spend a little time gazing out of our window. Fiona's driving directions were spot on to help... More

Thank you very much for your kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the breakfast and view. I tried hard to make my driving directions foolproof and hardly anyone gets lost now- glad you found the directions helpful. Saying you would return here really says it all, so thanks for that. Fiona More
