This was my local 26 years ago when I worked in the area so it was a trip down memory lane going for a beer and pub meal to the Cuilfail. I was not disappointed, the meal was good and the pub was as quaint as ever

Friendly helpful staff and a great location. Staff went out of their way to give us a warm welcome. Some renovation work was going on, but our visit was unaffected by it. We will certainly come again.
Great hotel, cosy pub. Gorgeous area and landscape.
The Cuilfail really does have great potential. We were very excited about staying there as based on previous reviews it sounded very much like the places we have searched for, found, and have stayed in through using reviews on trip advisor - small, independently run, with character! We did enjoy our stay, and the Cuilfail grows on you the longer...

We stayed here for five nights while honeymooning in Scotland and we enjoyed this hotel the most out of all the places we stayed. The room was big, nicely decorated, new bathroom and relaxing. The hotel is rated 2 stars (?!?), however feels more like 4 and should be considered a higher standard compared to some of the other places...

The Cuilfail Hotel is family run and quite small - about 5 rooms or so. In my experience this is always a good sign. This was also true for the Cuilfail.
Our sleepingroom and bathroom were clean (except windows - who cares) and had a decent size. The furnishing looked a little odd but this doesn't really matter. Staff was...

My wife, son and I stopped in a local hired cottage for a week and found the hotel to be very welcoming. To start with the bar staff were friendly when we first visited and advised that our dog (well behaved) was also welcome.
We chose from the bar menu and had very good food on the four occasions we...

My partner and I were attending the wedding of a couple of close friends at Ardfern which is approximately 8 miles away from this hotel. We arrived late on the Friday evening but found that the hotel were more than willing to put food on for us, which was enjoyable and reasonably priced. The Guinness wasn't great but the real...

We were totally disappointed with our stay. The room and carpet was dusty. The tea and coffee supplies were minimal. The bar was cosy but the menu read like a fish and chip shop. Our meal was returned as cold and the sauce on the tough chicken tasted as though it was made from a packet. The "Ceann Mòr "restaurant...

This hotel is run by Somin and Yvonne for 20 months now, and they really really love the place. And it shows! In their pleasant friendlyness, the cosyness, the beauty of the hotel. It's really a gem! And the environment had al we looked for: great walks, solitude, relaxation, the "scottish feeling. Beautiful!
