We stayed here overnight before an early morning sailing for South Uist. We booked a triple room which was clean and comfortable and more than adequate for our needs. As we were sailing very early we were up too early for the cooked breakfast but the hotel had prepared a self service breakfast that was very good. This is a... More

Stayed here three nights Thursday to Sunday hotel really in great location five minutes walk from the station and ferry port just as well we had loaded rucksacks! Checked in very friendly greeting as we came in, room 18 on second floor reasonable size room a wee bit tired but everything you need usual tea coffee etc spotlessly clean, and... More

We booked this last minute and were pleased with just how central this place was. It is a simple place...yes, it is in need of some TLC in the rooms. However, it was clean, and the staff that we came across were all perfectly friendly and polite. Breakfast was fine enough - and it was nice to have a cooked... More

We had 3 singles for an overnight on the way to the Corryvreckan. Check in was fast and easy, the rooms were tidy and perfect for one, wifi worked well and the staff (and the dog!) was incredibly helpful and welcoming. Very close to everything - we walked to the Oban distillery for the tour in just a few minutes.... More

Stayed here one night with a group of friends. Our room was dreadful we couldn't get out fast enough. Not sure where to start. The decor was shocking not just tired it needs gutting. The furniture was worse than I remember in bad student accommodation thirty years ago! The window didn't work properly the sash cords were broken and there... More

I was booked into this hotel with work and stayed here one night. I was forewarned by my colleagues about the standard of the hotel and urged to change my booking. Couldn't be too bad I thought and besides it was only to sleep in for the night... Wish I had taken their advice. The room I had was to... More

I had two nights th the Kelvin last weekend and was very impressed. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for me. My room, No 5 at the front of the hotel is modern, clean and comfortable and I slept like a baby. The atmosphere in the bar was first class and the bar staff in particular were... More

Not sure why so many people are referring to this hotel as 'clean' - it is anything but. It's fairly depressing and badly in need of a refurbishment. Walls are a mess and needing painted and there are pipes sticking out of the floor. Room furniture is worn, dated and tired looking.

Stayed in Kelvin Hotel in Oban for 3 nights, as part of our touring holiday. The Hotel is very clean, great location, bedroom was very spacious and great wee pub. Sheena and the team make you feel so welcome, "thanks for the curry night"... Will be returning soon.

Stayed for 4 nights with family in room 16,which is at front of hotel. You can hear the ferry tannoy from this room, but it didn't bother us,kids liked watching the ferry coming and going. Our room was quite large with a lovely bathroom with bath/shower with plenty of hot water.Plenty of tea and coffee in room, also hairdryer.Only slight criticism was the wardrobe...
