We spent a lovely short stay at this charming, quiet place in the middle of a wonderful surrounding. The historical building makes you feel like in a little castle with its own castlegrounds around it. Breakfast, service, cleanliness and atmosphere were excellent and absolutely recommendable. If we are to be around again, we'll be back there!

Second visit to this lovely house - 15 years since we were last here but we still remembered the wonderful walks and the terrific breakfast so as we were passing through the area on a trip to the west coast we were keen to re-visit and were not disappointed. We did wonder if our dog would be able to stay... More

This was our second visit to Claonairigh, having been some 8 years ago and loved it. This time we had our dad with us . Again we were made very welcome and the choices at breakfast were excellent. The house is steeped in history and the area is wonderful for exploring , being very close to Loch Fyne. A great... More

A spur of the moment stop when we saw the singpost for Claonairigh House was a winner. Fiona welcomed us into her historical gem built in 1745, with a cup of tea and we felt at home. The house is decorated in classic style, clean, friendly and very comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best we'd eaten between Land's end... More

It was our third stay at this lovely house with Fiona and her family! We were greeted with a cup of tea! This time we had the double room on the first floor, which is - like the two other rooms - a nice decorated room. From the window we had a great view over the garden. Breakfast is delicious,... More

This house is hidden away in the trees but full of character. Fiona and her family are warm and welcoming. We were greeted with a cup of tea on arrival, given good recommendations for eating in nearby Inverary, enjoyed reading material in our room and ate hearty personalised breakfasts.

A warm welcome after the long journey with a pot of tea and shown to our rooms, clean, loads of character & ours had a four poster. We had a recommendation for the evening meal in Inverary (The George Hotel) which was also very good and reasonable priced. The breakfast was very filling and just what was needed before we... More

Thanks Debbie for taking the time to write a review. It is very much appreciated. It is my aim in life that no one is hungry by lunch time after my breakfasts! Made a day-of reservation and ended up staying two! Fiona was welcoming and thoughtful, from the cup of tea when we first arrived to conversation about the history of the area as we left. Only as we prepared to leave did we learn that she's also a Tolkien and Terry Pratchett fan. Och! Wonderful time, wonderful place!

We stayed as a group of 5 documentary film-makers. Fiona was very welcoming and could not do enough for us. Bedrooms were traditionally furnished and very comfortable, and shower had good pressure. Breakfast was fantastic, freshly cooked to order with lovely fresh coffee. Our director liked the house so much we decided to include it in our script and shoot... More
