I can't recommend Claonairigh House highly enough. A gorgeous 18th century house beautifully renovated, every room full of character. Perfect, peaceful location with riverside walks from the house and through the woods to the loch. A warm and friendly welcome from Fiona, complete with home-made muffins and a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. I loved it so much I... More

I stayed 3 times in Claonairigh House in June 2013 and June 2014 on my way to and back from Islay, so a comfortable stop on the road. It's a great place to stay in the middle of the nature with a very friendly welcome from Fiona and Garret (and the dogs too). I really enjoy my stay and that's... More

We had a wonderful two night stay at Fiona's B&B. It really could not be faulted. She greeted us with a welcome cuppa, which makes all the difference, gave us tips to make our stay in the area better and provided fantastic breakfasts which set us up for the day. We were in the two twin rooms at the top... More

My husband and I spent only one night (unfortunately) at Claonairigh House. We very much enjoyed the hospitality of the landlady. The four-poster bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. For all those who like a relaxed, friendly and authentically Scottish atmosphere, this is the place to go! We loved it! Anja

As I lie on our 4 poster canopy double bed at Claonairigh House, watching the flat screen TV and contemplating this review, I can't help smiling. We have stayed here once before, in 2009, and I am delighted to see that Fiona still has her awesome grilled grapefruit on the breakfast menu (as well as the full Scottish cooked breakfast). Once... We visited Inveraray and stayed here. Travelled on a motorcycle with daughter, Fiona was very welcoming and helpful, stayed in a loft twin room, it was really nice accommodation and had plenty of character. Bike was totally safe. You can walk to Inveraray only if determined and willing to walk on road, we chose to ride there. Tony.

Thanks Tony for your review, It was a pleasure to meet you and your daughter. For anyone reading this there is a totally off road route to Inveraray for the stout footed (3.5 miles) through the forest and lochside tracks. there is also as of this season (hurrah!) a taxi firm. More

We were staying about 1/2 hr from the city of Inverarary, great small town in the Scottish highlands We visited Inverarary castle where some of the show Downton Abbey was filmed! Claonairigh House was across the street so we ate there and the beef was out of this world!
