Be VERY careful of what room you book here.. I was put into an annexe 'hotel' across the back yard WITHOUT an ensuite bathroom. it was across the hall in a room marked 'Private'!! The room was billed as a double and did indeed contain a double bed - but that took up nearly every inch of space in the... more

Arrived to find a fair bit of construction work going on at the back of the hotel, as we were staying in The First House, this was how we got to our room. There was no external door because of the work, and it was a little odd to walk from the gravel car park and right into a carpeted... more

Had a lovely one night stay in the george where we received a complimentary upgrade to the Library. The most beautiful room we have ever srayed in with so much character, huge bed and fantastic jacuzzi. We have often enjoyed the restaurant and found the food to be beautiful and very reasonably proced but this is the first time we... more

Jennifer toke special care at our arrival. Feels like being welcome by a long time friend. She talked to the kitchen so we could have diner. She even spent some time with us at our table to make sure everything was fine. Rooms are unique and special but so much better than unfriendly chain hotel rooms. We loved it. Wi-Fi... more

This was the most amazing room of our trip! We stayed in the Merchants Room, which boasts an en-suite jacuzzi lit by candles. One rock wall, a luxurious bed, a large bathroom with a door from an 1810 India merchant ship made for a one-of-a-kind stay. We would definitely stay here again! more

The George offered a great hotel at reasonable rates The breakfast was fresh and well cooked the smoked haddock is probably better than that at the Loch Fyne Smokehouse. The bar food was also of top quality and certainly not over priced -go for a meal at least even if you are staying elsewhere. We were given room 27 and... more

This hotel had so much character, full of history, furnished sensitively to the period and offered with a warm friendly service. The hotel is centrally located close to the loch. The dinner service in the evening was excellent and the food of a high standard. The quality of breakfast was equally good. This was a very nice hotel and one... more

We booked a deluxe master room (number 6) for our First anniversary and were totally over the moon with this room. Having stayed in some five star hotel rooms this one was on par with many of them. Lovely and fresh, high standard of cleanliness and comfort. Breakfast which we took in our room at no extra charge was excellent,... more
