I recently spent 4 nights at The George Hotel, Inverary, and as on previous visits we were given a warm welcome and went to our usual room (27), which is very comfortable, we booked a time for dinner and again I must complement the chef on wonderful meals the weather was rather mixed, this is Scotland after all.!!!! We go to Inveraray a few times a year and always go into The George Hotel. No visit to the north is complete without it! The food is always freshly cooked, huge portions and very competitively priced. Fish in batter that overhangs the already oversized plate, home-made burgers so big you need a knife and fork! Their sticky toffee pudding... More

Stopped here for lunch and had delicious soup and panini. Choice of 2 soups (carrot & coriander, split pea and ham) and 2 paninis (bacon and cheese or chicken with pesto and rocket) Good value for £7.50 and in a lovely surroundings. The hotel is very old and has great ambience...we were sat right by the fire and enjoyed super... More

My husband and I took advantage of the special offer at the George. 1st night full price, second night half price and 3rd night free. We were not disappointed. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. We had room 16 which had a huge jacuzzi bath and the most comfortable bed ever. The food is wonderful and great live entertainment... More

Had a lovely, relaxed meal here two days ago. Food was lovely with good ingredients all home made. Wine was also high quality. Staff were friendly and happy to help. Overall lovely experience and highly recommend. Surprisingly lovely and larger than expected given the outside appeared to be a typical small pub.

Had lunch here last Thursday - made a meal of it by having 2 courses. We both ordered soup for starters, my other half went for the 'cock a leekie', I decided to try the 'curried vegetable' soup. I wasn't too sure if I would like it, when it came it was a deep green colour; it was absolutely delicious!!... More

Myself and three others had lunch on 22 Sept which was a mix of average and poor. I had a simple burger and chips. When served the chips were cold and the burger, BBQ crisp. To be fair after discussion that under health and safety the burger had to be that way I was not charged for the lunch. I... More

Stopped in for a bite to eat while staying in Inverary. Took a while to be seated as it was a busy Sunday afternoon, however there could have been more staff on duty? We were seated by the bar and promptly ordered....we were starving so ate it all up quickly, Fish 'n' Chips & Haggis & Tatties.....very delicious, the batter... More

We loved our beautiful rooms in this historic hotel in the picturesque town of Inverary. A real treat for our friends visiting from western Canada (as well as us!) They haven't got round the issue with no Wi-Fi in the bedrooms (because the walls are so thick) - let's hope they don't destroy the history/character to resolve.
