My son and I stayed at the George three days. The rooms were very clean, the staff friendly and very helpful. The village setting overlooking the loch was beautiful. I would definitely stay here again.

Was slightly nervous about this booking as some reviews mixed. However, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. We had a fabulous large room with huge bathroom and enjoyed the Jacuzzi. We ate in the restaurant twice and had great meals both times. Enjoyed the atmospherics. Good menu choice, generous portions and efficient service. Some staff more friendly... More

During July we stayed for 3 nights and couldn't have been happier. We read the damming reports about the Merchants room but please, this is an old property which doesn't have perfect walls or floors so enjoy the quaintness. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the fish courses for dinner were to die for, especially the langoustine. Yes the room... More

This pub has lots of atmosphere and is set in a great location - but the food was awful. We has a asparagus quiche and it was amongst the worst food I have ever been served. I don't know how anybody could make something that should be tasty so awful and it wasn't cheap either.

We have visited The George several times - and have almost always really enjoyed our stay. This time was no exception - beautiful room, excellent food and a good menu to choose from. The only thing which marred this visit a little was a lack of care and attention from what I assumed was a duty manager - a slightly... More

Friendly place, superb bar, great food....but they should make efforts on service friendliness as well as cleaning. Some places in the building have probably not seen a vacuum cleaner since....the foundation of the place!

We only had lunch here, family of 4,on a very busy Friday. The waiter, whom I took to be quite senior, was anything but friendly, the drinks order took a long time to come, after asking twice! The meal was good, but I think quite expensive for what it was,the chairs where in a dreadful state, one was particularly bad,my son nearly fell through!I understand the look they are... We visited the hotel for an overnight stay and stayed in the Merchant room! We were a little bit disappointed in the standard of the room as it appeared to be a little bit well worn! This included duct tape in the jacuzzi bath and curtains hanging off the rails in the room! Also when the toilet was flushed it... More

Myself and my husband booked a night in the Jacuzzi suite room number 5 and whilst the room was beautiful the bed was very uncomfortable due to an enormous dent in it, moving from one side of the bed to another was like falling off a kerb the dent was so bad, whilst checking out my husband told the man at... I have not stayed at the George Hotel but I have eaten there several times. The food is excellent with healthy sized portions . The staff are very friendly, polite and welcoming. I would heartily recommend stopping for a meal if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed.
