This is a hotel that could teach a thing or two to many hotels in Scotland. The staff are excellent and food is wonderful with a great breakfast and an excellent lunch and dinner menu. A huge plus is that they happily except dogs not only to stay at the hotel but in their excellent very spacious cocktail bar where... More

We stayed in another hotel as the George was fully booked but we dropped in for drinks and had a lovely time. Very cosy and welcoming on a rainy January evening. Very good live music. Hope to return and stay very soon.

My wife and I stayed here in January with another couple, having booked in December. On arrival, we found that one couple in our party had been fortunate enough to be upgraded at no extra cost and that couple was us. Our upgraded room was a Master Deluxe and was very spacious, containing a double jacuzzi and an open fire.... More

A series of panelled rooms and three open fires make for a lovely atmospheric pub.Lots of character with different sized tables to suit every size of group. There is also a dining area at the rear of the pub with lots of seating. The menu (served from 12 to 9) has dishes to suit everyone, with specials as well. The... More

Spent two, nights in the George for Hogmanay. Lovely room, great food but ......hogmanay party hosted by Starsky was a damp squib. New Years day ceilidh wasn't much better. Biggest complaint would be non residents lounge for us to relax in. As a party of six it would have been nice to relax in comfort in a room with soft seats.... More

Had a lovely lunch here on Saturday. The service from the waitresses was so attentive. We were really well looked after. The food was lovely. The bar area is lovely with the lights on the ceiling and the real coal fires throughout. Would highly recommend a visit here for food.

Stopped here on our way to the island of Gigha a couple of times. I had the steak pie which was good and friends had soup and a filled roll which was also good. My daughter had the bolognaise which she enjoyed. Very cosy, nice Christmas lights on ceiling and warm open fire. Can't wait till next time.

Stopped at the George Hotel bar restaurant for lunch. The interior is so pretty with coloured fairy lights on the ceilings. Stone walls. Old world interior. The service was fast. The food great and plentiful, excellent value for money. Can't recommend highly enough.

We stay here 2-3 times per year it's always very very busy the rooms are of a good standard spacious and clean. Food can be rather rushed sometimes but generally good, a great base to visit the west coast.

Like the previous reviewer I have also raved about the food but was very disappointed when I took my partner for a meal...definitely not up to the standards of my previous visits...the fish and chips came with no accompaniments...we had to ask for the tarter sauce which was supposed to come with it...this came eventually as the waitress had forgotten...
