Stayed one night on a Scottish mini brake. The Hotel has obviously been around for many, many years in this pretty loch side town.No lifts and dated decor, mildew around the bath and single glazed sash windows all combine to give it an air of faded glory but the bedding and towels were clean and the room smelt fresh.TV was old large tube... I found a really good value deal online for dinner, bed and breakfast - I had never been to Inveraray before so did not know what to expect. The fabric of the hotel was a little tatty (hence them missing out on the top rating) but EVERYTHING else was exceptionally good. Particular praise must go to Margaret, the lovely welcoming... More

This hotel really couldn't have a better location but the owners need to spend some money on the bedrooms and the corridors. Chipped paint, grubby carpets, a really unpleasant bathroom, a chronically uncomfortable bed... All a great pity when the staff are welcoming and friendly and the bar food excellent. The hotel looks so pretty from the outside and we... More

We arrived just after 2pm and were informed that check in is 3pm, which is fine, but she then went onto check us in and say room was ready, so we got straight to our room, great. Room very clean and fab view over the loch. Nice big window to look out Bathroom window was also big and being the... More

We got a room at this hotel on a Groupon deal. If anyone else is thinking the same thing, DON'T. It is awful. Only reason I didn't complain to the manager for a refund is that Groupon won't refund your money. The room was the worst I have ever seen. I would expect better at a Premier Inn or Travelodge.... Booked it last minute on booking dot com , while driving to Scotland we called to confirm however when the call was received form the receptionist the response was to say the least flat and uninviting which left us wondering what was going on , after many long hours driving we finally arrived at the the hotel and the response... We booked a 1 night dinner, b & b, and we thought the hotel offered real value for money. We had a room overlooking the loch, and we enjoyed very sunny weather which added to our experience. whilst the hotel does need a little "tlc" the food was fantastic. We had a 3 course table d'hote, and the choice and... More

Absolutely beautiful view outside from the hotel dining room. Friendly staff, helpful and courteous. Lovely breakfast. Great atmosphere in the bar which was open really late. Good value for money. Great location, very central to the castle and also to the main street and the jail.

The hotel is in a fantastic position, overlooking the loch, it's a shame the interior didn't meet up to standards! The rooms are small and dingy, the corridors need some decorating. We booked this as it was supposed to be dog friendly, which is was but only by two of the staff! The young lady that checked us in and... More

My route into town approached the hotel from the rear. I prayed that this wasn't the Argyll, but it was!. The reception, bar and dining room are all in good shape. From the first stair things go downhill. This place is very tired and shabby. I don't care how busy staff are there is no excuse for dirty laundry on... More
