Our stay here was awful start to finish, and I can speak for several of our friends who occupied other rooms on the same night. - music blaring below our room from pub/function suite. Didn't stop until 2am, didn't sleep until then. Was so loud the bed was vibrating. - room was damp, dampness showing on bathroom walls and bathroom... More

Stayed for one night. Got a OK room, Basic, but good value for the money. The evening meal was good pub food made at the hotel, even had fresh chips. Not frozen! Comfortable bed and friendly staff. Breakfast was fine. Good value for the money and would go back.

Dirty, probably not decorated in years, stale smell, dodgy room door with huge gap at the bottom and had to be forced shut. Crappy breakfast to top it all off. The only thing that was missing was the complementary orange boiler suit, which to be fair would have been handy for keeping myself clean.

Although our room seemed to be up enough stairs to be in the belfry, it was clean comfortable & contained all the amenities one would expect of a sleepy Victorian hotel in a sleepy Scottish town in the middle of nowhere, but that was half the charm! The journey to get to Campbeltown & beyond to the Mull of Kintyre... More

Never a hotel.Dated, threadbare carpets,Black damp patches on walls of en suite bathroom which was poorly lit and had lifting carpeted floor! Beds could benefit from foam covers over the springs. Locks on door are flimsy Breakfast. We were met by a woman whose first words were. 'Room number' no good morning welcome here and worse was to come. When we... More

Not stayed in this hotel but lodge nearby from time to time and fail to fall asleep until well after midnight due to the extremely loud music and singing emitting from the hotel. This is particularly bad at weekends so think this must affect residents in the hotel. We used to choose to eat evening meals here, but it is... More
