My partner and I only stayed for 1 night at The Royal Hotel and were very, very impressed. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The room was absolutely stunning, very clean and had everything we needed for a lovely night away from home. The shower was incredible! We ate in the restaurant 3 nights in a row. Genuinely fabulous... More

Stayed here at end on June start of July on golf trip with three friends. Found all staff to be very friendly, helpful and brimming with local knowledge. The rooms are very well appointed, spotlessly clean, very nice separate shower and bath, oodles of nice soft towels and with very comfortable beds. The restaurant within is very nice (and very... Just returned from a golfing break with lots of lads and we could not fault our stay on Saturday/Sunday. Rooms are excellent, staff very helpful, and food good. The restaurant/grill was really good where you also eat breakfast and the attached pub was lively with really well kept beers, particularly the Guinness. We have stayed in other hotels while golfing... More

We stayed at the Royal Hotel over a year ago and it has become the bench mark of all hotels we have subsequently stayed in. None have come anywhere near it for luxury, taste and space – bedroom and bathroom being both sumptuously expansive (these in one of the newer rooms I believe). Despite having paid considerably more in some... More

I was in Campbeltown yesterday afternoon (9 June 14) and visited The Harbour View bar in the Royal for a coffee and light snack. The coffee was excellent but the sandwich I chose was so disappointing. Beef with caramalised onion. Well it obviously came out of pre-packaging. Brown granary, two halves plonked on a plate with some coleslaw, salad (going... More

Stayed only the one night. Very smart hotel. Modernised to a very high standard. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms large, very comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. Breakfast and evening meals were very good. Nothing really to criticise. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again.

This is a great hotel. Can't say enough good things about it. Rooms are superb and so clean. Very comfy beds with wonderful luxurious pillows. Staff friendly and can't do enough to help at any time of day. Food is really, really good as is the Black Sheep pub next door. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it... More

Great hotel to stay in recently refurbished room which is done to a high standard with all the facilities you would need. The room was large and spacious as was the bathroom. The only thing missing is a table near a socket to plug the kettle in I had to put the tray on the floor. Breakfast was nice but... More
