I was originally booked in the Craigard Hotel in Campbeltown for 4 nights but it was horrific, unwelcoming, dirty and the owner Lori extremely rude and confrontational. I had to find somewhere else to stay as could not stay at Craigard for 1 night let alone 4! On entering The Royal Hotel I was greeted y a smiling face of... More

There is no fridge. Not so good if you are diabetic. No ice buckets, so if you have wine you have to request ice from the front desk, then use your bathroom glass to pour your wine into. Which is fine, but this is a four star!! There was a huge dust web hanging from the ceiling in the dining... More

We do have refrigerators in our Cottages and Suites -- and have recently ordered portable refrigerators that will be available (upon request) very soon. Ice buckets and glasses are always available to all our guests. And we encourage every guest just to... More

I brought 4kids aged between 5-10 for pub lunch. Staff especially young barman could not have been more helpful and friendly to all of us. Kids enjoyed their lunch and I relaxed. Food good and atmosphere relaxing even with 4 kids . Thanks for enjoyable visit

We stayed at the sister hotel Ugadale for 3 nights and wanted a night in the City. We had a great room, well appointed and facing the city. The hotel has a fun pub, where we had dinner and drinks. It is within walking distance to everything.

We are at the hotel several times while staying in Campletown .. By far the best place to eat.. Food is fantastic, service fantastic, cakes and coffee fantastic.. We couldn't fault the place. Well worth a visit and we would thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting the area.. The staff are the most polite helpful people we have come across, nothing... More

We stayed for 3 nights. Had a corner room; really nice views of the waterfront and the bay. The room was comfortable and clean. The biggest asset of this hotel is the staff. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The pub was lively. The Harbourview Grill had great meals and wait staff was attentive. We'd stay at the Royal Hotel again.... More

Stayed here for one night with five other friends, we stayed in twin rooms and these were gorgeous, spacious, comfortable and clean. Had dinner and breakfast in the Harbourview Grille which is located in the hotel and the food was delicious with friendly staff. Also located in the hotel is the Black Sheep pub, which is a lovely chilled out... More

Visited my home town recently with my husband and stayed in my favourite hotel again. My best stay so far and a big thank you to Manager Keith Martin for personally looking after my booking. Service and atmosphere didn't disappoint. Looking forward to my next stay in August.

We can certainly recommend The Royal Hotel - from many perspectives. The accommodation is very well presented, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and well-appointed. The meals were excellent, and the staff courteous, friendly and helpful.
