A customer is considered only a source of money and nothing else. They changed the room rate from 95 to 115 pounds just because we walked in without a booking. Good location but no sense of hospitality. I wouldn't stay there again. Ok for a one off stay but definetely not a memorable experience. More

I am sorry that these guests felt we were inhospitable on this occasion, this most certainly was not our intention - in fact we felt we had given them good value - offering a reduction on our normal rate for this room. On arrival in the evening, two guests asked the room rate for our only remaining room and we... More

We enjoyed 4 nights at Craigard in April. Roger and Lori were very kind and always keen to help. Especially Roger who was great for advice on things to do and see in the area. The food was generally good especially the local seafood and cheeses. We were in room 4 above the dining room with the big bay window.... More

We have stayed here the last 2 times we have visited from the united states. The owners are lovely people who enjoy taking care of their guests. The restaurant serves excellent food using local fare. A full bar is available too! Bean, the collie mix is a love and demands a belly rub and in return will give you a... More

We struggled to find anywhere to stay on our recent visit to Cambeltown, but were made very welcome by staff (including animals!) at the Craigard House Hotel. Great evening meal and probably the best porage of our stay in Scotland, but there were a few issues with the room, including not being able to connect to the Wi-fi. Nothing to... More

I've stayed at the Craigard three times (July 2011, November 2011 and February 2012) and I can honestly say each stay has been better than the one before. Both Roger and Lori (not forgetting Beanie of course!) are very friendly and welcoming (even when I arrived at 10pm for my first stay, the kitchen was closed but I was still... More

Many thanks for this kind review. A lot of people like Room 15, which has a sea view and is located in the old Stable part of the house, separate from the main building. We have just updated another four rooms, so next time you come you may find another favourite! We look forward to seeing you again soon. More

I have never been to such a fantastic hotel in my life. In the three rooms I've been in I have not been disappointed. Lori and Roger are wonderful friendly people. The food is out of this world. Can't wait to go there again. The only single fault I could possibly find was the fact that I prefer duvets for... More

Many thanks for all your kind words. Although our standard bed coverings are sheets and blankets, we do, of course, have duvets available for those who prefer them. Next time you come, just let us know you would prefer duvets and we will have them for you. We have just finished a refurbishment of several rooms, so next time you... More

Having stayed here before and had a friendly welcome we looked forward to returning. How wrong we were. Mix up with room led to Roger shouting and screaming at us and we did not stay. Terrible behaviour from both Roger and Lori but I note from other reviews that this is not the first mention of Roger shouting at guests.... More

Bad reviews are unpleasant for all parties concerned, and we are always sorry to be the cause of an unpleasant memory for our guests. However, in this case, we did no wrong and I would like to set the record straight. In September, the negative reviewer booked a 'front sea view room @ £105' (I have documentary proof), and on... This was our first visit to Campbeltown but it will not be our last. We stayed in room 4 and it is every bit as good as all these reviews suggest, super king size four poster bed, comfy chairs and a fabulous view. More

This beautiful old house has been brought back to life. Just across the road from Campbeltown Loch, there are lovely views and nice rocky beach walks, with or without the resident dog. The lounge and dining room are very nicely decorated, and the stained-glass stairwell is amazing. There are lots of books and sightseeing ideas available. The bedroom and bath... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Craigard House. Our room (number 4, which we HIGHLY recommend) was absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed the luxurious bed, the magnificent view, and the attentive staff. The food was delicous (both breakfast and dinner) and the location was great to explore all that Campbeltown had to offer. We were in Campbeltown for business and... More
