Had dinner with my daughter last week. I went for sea bass with lime, garlic and ginger butter......superb! My daughter had prawns in a tomato and chilli sauce....also superb! Unfortunately we were only in the area one night otherwise we would definitely have returned for another meal. Can thoroughly recommend.

Popped into the hotel just for lunch. We ordered what we thought would be a light meal - be warned the Anchor platter is big enough for 2 people! But we shouldn't complain about generous portions :-). Service was fast and friendly and the meal arrived within 10 minutes. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. The hotel does a wide... More

We booked our room (room 3) as a 'double', but in reality we would classify it as a single with a (large) double bed shoehorned in. There was almost no room to place our luggage without tripping over it, and not even room for a chair. The hand basin was the tiniest I have ever seen but just about sufficient... More

We booked into this hotel online the night before our stay. We were making a whistle stop visit to the area. We could not fault the hotel. We were welcomed warmly and showed to our room which although quite small was clean and comfortable. There was a TV and tea and coffee making facilities and am en suite shower room.... More

Great reception when we arrived , the bar staff were excellent, the meals were brilliant and a perfect serve size, all very fresh ingredients. Very comfortable place with no stress. As a visitor from Australia this is a must do when in the area. Thanks for a top experience.

We received a very warm welcome from the staff, who were accommodating at all times. Despite being over the pub the rooms were very quiet. Although small, our room was very comfortable, particularly the snuggly, soft duvet. The food was excellent, all home cooked, fresh ingredients and we spent several minutes salivating over the menu. Breakfast was lovely.

Stopped for a morning coffee, and all ended up having hot chocolate ! It was the best we'd had in a long time, hot, chocolaty and not too sweet. Served with a shortbread biscuit too. The place is abit scruffy/old fashioned, pvc tablecloths, cutlery in paper napkins left on the tables and not too clean, but it looks like the... More

We went for the Thursday curry night. The curries were great and good value at £8 for a curry and drink. We also had puddings from the main menu which were good. The staff were very pleasant and the pub had a lovely traditional feel to it. We were staying in a cottage at Seagreens so had a fabulous walk... More

We stayed there on Friday 3rd April as part of a Car Owners Club group that was doing a 'Coast to Coast' run the following day. It is a lovely traditional hotel/pub that does really great seafood. We had people staying in the Hotel flat and cottage but we stayed in one of the rooms upstairs in the hotel itself.... More
