Visited here on Christmas Day for lunch in a party of 10. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. The service was speedy, but not rushed. The atmosphere and table settings were friendly, welcoming and festive. A very enjoyable day, will be back very soon!

We were visiting Aberdeen on business and found this place on the internet. The staff were really friendly and the accommodation first class. The hotel has an excellent restaurant and well stocked bar which made our stay all the more comfortable. Just outside the hotel is wonderful small harbour and there is a great walk along the cliff for those... More

Its my second visit to the Anchor Hotel - the food is delicious though one needs to get an early booking otherwise they tend to run out of ingredients, such as scallops. But I suppose thats a good sign as things are fresh. I had mussels as a starter and also the crayfish claw in batter, also a starter…ample food.... More

We were very happy when we arrived at The Anchor hotel for our 2 night stay. It's a lovely little inn in a peaceful and picturesque little harbour. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was great and plentiful (both breakfast and evening meal). We stayed in a family room which was actually 2 adjoining rooms, which... More

A hidden gem! From the moment you walk in to this quaint hotel you feel like your at home. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The bedrooms are small but well equipped and clean. The food is amazing, fresh and home cooked. I travel on my own with work and never feel uncomfortable going to the Anchor on my... More

Cosy place right on the harbour. We ate in the bar but there is also a restaurant upstairs. Delicious seafood choices. It's got to be fresh as the fish wholesalers is just round the corner. Really really pleasant and tasty meal. Washed down by some quality choices of whisky

We were really looking for to eating here having read the great reviews. On our 1st visit we were pretty much told to move our child as he was in the wrong place. Asking would have been nicer or explain things would be our tip. We ended up drinking in the 'beer garden" which is actually just a very small... More

Having maternal family hailing from Aberdeen I have been a frequent visitor to the City over the past 60 years. How sad that I had never ever visited Johnshaven, or even heard of it!! Sadder still that The Anchor Hotel had never been on our radar Visiting with my 91 year old aunt, cousin so, my wife and the dogs,... More
