The Park gets off to a good start with the receptionist being both friendly and professional. All other staff encountered were pleasant and helpful too.The room was large,if a bit dated, but clean and lacking nothing, with even an iron and ironing board in the built-in wardrobe!Food in the restaurant was good, despite blandly presented vegetables,a common failing in many hotels. The breakfast was very... more

The hotel impressed on arrival, the girl on reception cound'nt have been nicer. Things went downhill when you headed back to the rooms though. The carpets were all stained and the room was small and dark with a musty smell as if they had just been opened after a long spell of being sealed. The toilet was tight against the... more

My wife and I stayed in this Hotel for a friend's wedding, and I can only say that it was an excellent experience. Ok, the Hotel is not in it's first flush of youth, but it is comfortable and well maintained. It has ample parking, and lovely gardens (for wedding photographs). The staff were friendly and attentive, and all the... more

A pleasant little hotel, staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, room, dated but clean with tv, kettle etc. Only 1 complaint, the 'Do Not Disturb' sign was on my door, and the cleaner walked in! Could have been very embarrassing for both of us!! Ate dinner in the hotel once and was very surprised at how good the... more

We stayed at the Park Hotel on 18 July 2007, the night before the start of the British Open in Canoustie (15 miles south on Montrose). We stopped at the Tourist Information office in Stonehaven and they said this was the last triple room available in the area. We paid 130 GBP for a triple including breakfast. The room was... more

This hotel is very good for three star. Our room was fairly spacious with a trouser press, ironing board and jacuzzi bath. The air fan in the bathroom stunk but my husband managed to disable it. Breakfast was excellent although the staff did insist on clearing up the adjoining tables for the next days breakfast even though we were still... more

I stayed at this hotel when on a course, and found it to be very pleasant. It is getting older, but i saw signs that they were trying to keep on top of this. The staff were excellent. Very friendly, and nothing was too much for them. more

This hotel is a little old but it is currently undergoing some renovation in the public areas. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is well situated near the centre of Montose. They also do an excellent breakfast. One of the best I've had on my travels for sometime. Rooms old 50's style but large and clean. Not much... more

I had a one night stay at the Swallow Park in Montrose during October 2005. I have stayed in a number of hotels in smaller Scottish towns over the years and therefore did not expect too much. I was to be pleasantly surprised. I was allocated a room in the Coach House which was bright, spacious and well equipped. The... more

Stayed in the Park Hotel for a week while away on a course. The hotel was clean, the interiour was a bit dated but with it being nice and clean thats all that mattered. The staff were all nice and friendly and were always willing to help. The hotel bar was comfortable to sit and have a drink and something... more
