Dear Mrs Scott, we had a wonderful time at your place. Thank you for making our holiday perfect. Our room was very nice, we slept perfectly. Your breakfast was gorgeous. I loved your cheese omelette. You know a lot about the region and gave us good advice where to eat in the evening. Hope to see you again some day.... More

This is an amazing guest house, made ever more so because of the lovely host Marlene. Nothing is too much trouble. We have had a long stay at The Limes on and off since Christmas, sometimes needing rooms at last minute and where Marlene couldn't accommodate us she helped and found somewhere local that could. Its a lovely, immaculate guest... More

The reason I stay in B&B's is because they are all different and quirky. I loved my stay here because it was completely different and have just spent the evening telling my wife all about it. Could not say the same if I'd spent the time in a Premier Inn Hotel. Yes there were rules but we have pretty much... More

Good location in the centre of Montrose. Stayed for one night in attic twin room. Warm welcome, explanation of house policy, then led up to room. Good size with modern features and DVD capable freeview TV. Shower room pristine... not one watermark anywhere! Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided as well as liquid hand soap. Beds comfy with toppers, feather... More

My wife and I, usually with our daughter, have stayed at The Limes several times before, most recently in late May of this year (2013), this time with daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren. Our accommodations were spacious and very clean. Marlene is a gracious hostess and very helpful in arranging transportation to sites of interest. Breakfasts were the traditional Scottish... More

We enjoyed our three nights here with very pleasant staff especially our waitress who was able to suggest places to visit in the surrounding countryside. Breakfast was "normal" B & B fare with overly generous portions. It was wonderful to stretch out in our room consisting of a double and two single beds for just the two of us.

Just back from staying at the Limes for one night. Granted I didn't spend a lot of time in the building - checked in 8pm out at 8am next morning - I would find it hard to fault. The landlady was pleasant. Room was clean. Job done. Yes we had to order breakfast night before but we were accommodated as... More

Quite simply, a very good guest house/bed & breakfast. A delightful old style property with fine architectural features. Spotlessly clean and tidy. My single room was small but perfectly adequate. The breakfasts were something to behold, delicious and very generously proportioned. Only the noisy, verminous, seagulls, whose morning chorus starts about 04.30 am, spoiled the tranquility of the location. These... More

I have allowed a few weeks to pass since I stayed there, but the memory still makes me furious. Imagine being charged for staying somewhere and then being bombarded with rules which do anything but make you feel welcome. Our room was packed with furniture and airless with a locked window. The brand new en suite was so cramped, any... More

There are certain rules that we adopt in the house, we don't think that is unreasonable considering this is our home too but sometimes people don't listen so they blame everyone but themselves for things that arise because of this, this is not a hotel but sometimes people expect hotel facilities without having to paying for them!!. We do expect people... More

Whilst the building itself and the rooms are pleasent enough and spotlessly clean ( i saw 4 cleaners all cleaning the place every day ) perhaps they should spend more money on some curtesy training or customer service courses! The keys to the rooms are on a pin board in the main hall for all too see who stay there,... More

Again, you were part of the party that broke security rules by leaving doors unlocked and you seemed to think that you were in a hotel that has staff working hotel hours to serve late breakfast, we informed the FIRST of the party to check in what the procedure with breakfast was so we assumed that they would pass on...
