Stayed here for 2 nights last week and have to say after reading some reviews we were pleasantly surprised. Yes, the hotel is geared towards golfers and yes it's a bit dated ! However, staff were lovely and the breakfast delivered by smart, cheerful, local young people was fab. Top tip is a visit to the local indian restaurant "Ganges" ,... More

We stayed in the Carnoustie Suite and whilst the views were fab, the decor really is dated. The sofa on the landing opposite the lift was torn, there was a poster advertising a wedding fayre from October 2013 in the display cabinet, carpets were worn. At breakfast there was no vegetarian cooked option which is poor. A couple of guests... More

I have stayed in this hotel a number of times over the last 6 years while golfing in the region . It has always been good but on this occasion I feel it has really upped the ante and was superb in every regard . Nothing was too much trouble for the staff . The leisure centre is terrific ,... More

Stayed with a group of friends in the Carnoustie Golf Hotel and loved it...as did all my party. My wife had checked all of my group in a couple of hours earlier and she found the staff very efficient and smartly dressed. The hotel foyer is very spacious and tastefully decorated with lots of comfortable sofas and coffee tables. All... More

We stayed at the hotel for three nights from Saturday 29th March. Despite arriving late for dinner we were given a later time without any problem. The young receptionist was very friendly and helpful both during check-in and check-out. She dealt efficiently with our request to have the feather pillows exchanged. (Asthmatics take note- some of the cushions were filled... More

Stayed one night this weekend as a late getaway. Only 12 miles from Dundee, Carnoustie offers the feel of a town way more isolated than it actually is. The hotel is surrounded by 3 golf courses and beautifully located by the sea. Check in was quick and friendly. We were allocated Room 209 which overlooked the car park. The room... More

The hotel is terribly ran down almost to the point of being disgusting. The health club and spa is actually a health hazard and spa. I remember when this hotel was built people expected great things and really making carnoustie a golfing hotspot. The course remains the best in the world and the hotel is just an ugly run down... Thank you for your post. Whilst I appreciate your comments, and whilst I accept that there are areas of our hotel that may be 'tired', I do not at all accept your unreasonable description which not only is grossly misleading but also inaccurate. More

Have just spent two nights in the hotel with a group of friends on a celebration weekend. The staff were all very courteous and pleasant and attended to our every request at breakfast and dinner. The pool was large and very relaxing and not busy when we went between five and six. The rooms were spacious and clean (though a... More

Booked ths hotel for a two night break away . Trip advisor reviews were mixed but due to securing a good deal and thought (wrongly ) we would give it a try. Check in was pleasant with friendly reception staff, and the reception area was clean and well presented . Only one lift working when we arrived , which didn't... More
