We stayed here for three nights and had a very pleasant stay. We had a triple room on the top floor with wonderful views across to Fife. (could do with a bigger hairdryer in the room) The en suite was adequate but not plush and suited our purposes. We were the only people in the dining room for breakfast and... More

We began with limited expectations. We had been passed on by another hotel which was unable to fulfil our booking. My wife didn't like the look of the web site but from the friendly welcome when we arrived before 12 noon ( we were attending a wedding which began at 1pm) until the huge breakfast and warm "haste ye back"... Came here for meal and ended up staying for the folk music night where participation is actively encouraged. Had steak pie, delicious and meat was plentiful and very tender. Hubby had fish and chips which cane with plenty of salad. Not the most adventurous of choices from us, but were both very tasty and had no room for dessert! Outdoor... More

We haven`t been going out so often for a meal of late as I have been ill, so we were very much looking forward to our meal at the Aboukir. The starters were excellent and very reasonably priced, as is the food in general. For our mains we ordered the steak pie and the sausage and black pudding casserole with... More

Returned to the Aboukir again on a visit to Carnoustie to have a bar lunch. The food and service was excellent as usual and as our group had an age range from 3 to 81 years of age they proved that they can cater for everyone. Apart from the bar and the restaurant they also have 2 gardens which are... More

When we arrived the place was fairly quiet so our order was taken with no problems. We ordered three adults meals and a kids meal. The kids meal was good value and included ice cream after. During our meal the place got fairly busy and the two staff on duty just could not keep up. One of them (the bigger... More

We had a very enjoyable meal in the restuarant. The food was well prepared and the service prompt and polite.the noise from the bar was a bit loud. It may have been better if the door between restuarant and bar was closed

my friend and I had lunch on a very wet Thursday and had good food, a warm welcome and good service. The bill was a pleasant surprise too! Very reasonable. A varied menu with plenty of choices. They catered for a non dairy request without a problem. The place was busy but the service was still prompt.
