Dismal, depressing room. Told that food was served until 2000 but then told by dour unfriendly barmaid at 1930 that the kitchen was closed, so ended up having a Chinese takeaway in my bedroom, which has to rank as a low point in my extensive hotel/B&B timeline. I raised this in the morning with the breakfast staff who were very... More

Stayed here in January 2016. The Bar and restaurant are very modern and looked as if they had been refurbished recently. The bedroom was okay, a bit dated but comfortable. Really in need of updating. However the price was cheap and cheerful and was okay for 1 night. Breakfast was really nice and was given a choice. The staff were... More

We only visited the bar area and was very impressed with the speed of service. Wide range of beers on tap along with all the usual wines and spirits. The atmosphere and ambience was very pleasant. Shortage of crisps. Quite busy and frequented by locals as well as tourists. In the town centre so walking distance from the Carnoustie Golf... More

My workmate and I stayed at the kinloch arms for 2 weeks, during this time we experienced nothing but helpful staff, comfortable rooms and good food. In the 11 nights we ate there both for breakfast and for an evening meal and have NOTHING to complain about! First, breakfast. Nothing was to much trouble for the excellent and friendly morning staff,2 lovely ladies... More

Last minute break so let's be truthful for the price they charged b@b I didn't except the Ritz lol - stayed for two nights in Room No 1, with my partner - it had a double bed and two single beds (must have been the family room) the bedding was fresh and clean so no complaints, and my partner's father... Visited Carnoustie on a 3 day groupon deal, as a couple and with a small dog. I had the steak sandwich my other had a tuna sandwich, both were okay. With drinks the bill was under £20. All in all okay. The restaurant is dog friendly.

Having a couples break at Carnoustie Golf Hotel. We went to the Kinloch Arms Hotel for lunch because we heard they are dog friendly. The staff could not be any friendlier, there was one girl on her own doing everything. I had a tuna sandwich with a glass of white wine and my other half had a steak sandwich with... More

Just used the bar here which was a pleasant surprise. Bright and clean and good service. TV's for sport etc but they didnt take over the bar. Was always quite busy and welcoming. Would drop in again for a drink.

Spent two days here. As previously said the downstairs bar and dining area are really well renovated, but upstairs leaves a lot to be desired. The bedrooms are very dated and although the beds were ok and clean, the room was very shabby with a not too clean carpet. I guess this is reflected in the price. The staff were... More
