I booked a room online 5 days before my proposed stay, arrived off the train with my luggage after a long day, found the hotel but to my dismay it was shut and had notices up warning about its being a building site. Surely they could have informed the booking company? I had to search for somewhere else which was... More

On arrival we went into the bar and a lady ticked a book after taking our name and took us to our family room , there was no communication with ref to breakfast or dinner we had to ask. As a family run hotel I feel she should of introduced herself and welcomed us but this didn't happen. The room... More

Warm welcome. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room very clean and everything(t.v. Shower etc) worked. Furniture a little dated. Wonderful options at breakfast including selection of fruits and cereals and filling fry up. Friendly bar. I would sum up as one star hotel, with five star service. Have stayed in many highly rated hotels where I would not be as well... More

This is the second time we have had high tea at the Kinloch Arms and we were not disappointed on either visit. Huge portions of home made steak pie and a lovely steak cooked to perfection. Plenty of toast but no pancakes or scones on the second visit but as we were almost at the end of service were delighted... More

I stayed here for 1 night in May. The bar is a popular place with the locals but not noisy. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable . The only problem I had with the room was that I needed assistance to close the window. This was due to needing to press a button on the window... More

I along with my family, ten of us altogether had lunch today in the Kinloch Arms Hotel in Carnoustie. It has been a few years since we were last here and we were all very pleasantly surprised. Looks like the hotel has been refurbished recently and it was nice sitting in lovely surroundings. The food was excellent and reasonably priced... More

Very happy with this hotel - comfortable, clean room; lively crowd in the bar; a bartender who was very helpful (I didn't have a UK charger for my BlackBerry and he managed to find one to lend me for long enough to get back in touch with the world); and a nice restaurant. I've never been a fan of high... More

Had a meal with friends in the restaurant in the Kinloch Arms just before Christmas and couldn't understand why it was so quiet. We had an excellent meal served in attractive surroundings, with a warm, friendly ambience. Food was great, portions generous and service excellent. The owner is making a real effort to deliver a quality product and in my... More

Needed to book accommodation at very short notice so did a quick internet search. Kinloch Arms was in the right area so there wasn't really an alternative. I had to check in late and there was no problem. Room was warm, comfortable, clean & quiet. In the mornings breakfast was flexible in terms of time and was good quality and... More

We've used this hotel a few times for overnight stays when in the area. Not much has changed from our first visit to our last, recent stay. The bedrooms are well in need of a refurb but, we've always found them comfortable. There have always been toiletries in the bathroom which can be handy, along with the needful kettle, biscuits,...
