Stayed June 2014 for a week, which seemed 6 days too long for me! Central location is all it had going for it, the place is in desperate need of a good clean. Don't be surprised to see broken windows or wood chip paper everywhere and shoddy painting in every room. How this got a 3* rating from the Tourist... More

Convenient spot to explore Arbroath, central for station shops harbor etc. Very handy for the Abbey which is worthy of a visit unfortunately I didn't have time. Guest house is in the main shopping street but not a problem as Arboath does not seem to be very noisy!

Didnt expect much. Arrived to find that the street the guest house is on is a pedestrian street so no parking next to the house. Entrance hall was drab and the smell of smoke was evident. the room I was given I was charged £80 per night for- wood chip covered wallpaper- tiny tv, drab carpet and curtains. No double... More

The location, while central has it's problems. The inconvenience of luggage of luggage transfer and car parking restriction to what appears to be a quarry site easily overwhelm any advantage of being in the centre of town. After six pm, the pedestrian zone turned in to a ghost town until midnight, when the bar patrons made their noisy home. The... More

It was very clean and tidy, rooms were basic but comfortable with tea making facilities and a tv. In room fast wireless broadband was a bonus and helpful to me as i had reports to write. The breakfast was lovely and all for such a great price..made it hard not to tip!!

Stayed here for two nights. Centrally located in Arbroath, handy for everything, including the beach. Friendly welcome. Excellent room with probably the most comfortable beds ever. Very wide choice for breakfast including lots of fresh fruit, yoghurts, fresh bread, delightful pastries and superb fresh coffee. Cooked breakfast of a good quality, set us up for the day. Definitely one of... More

I stayed for six nights during early March, wanting to get away from big-city bustle, and found a gem of a place ideally situated near the center of Arbroath. I felt treated less like a guest and more like a family member during each generous and deftly-prepared breakfast. The low season price of £40 a (solo) night for a nice... More

Blairdene is a centrally-situated establishment on the main street in Arbroath and that was why we chose it. But I'm not sure we'd stay there again. The main concerns are some customer-unfriendly practices which, when brought up with the manager, revealed some pretty customer-unfriendly attitudes. You might think that in the second decade of the 21st century anywhere charging £70... More

We were welcomed to Blairdene at very short notice and offered a choice of two rooms. We took the larger room with en suite for £80, and it was comfortable, clean and well equipped with a generously sized bathroom, although it lacked those extra touches that I would expect from a room of this price, the little inessentials that make... Just returned from a one night visit at this 3 star guest house and have to say what a lovely time we had, and also well located in the town centre. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable, our night included breakfast and what a fab breakfast it was, continental, with all the usual croissants, jams yogurts... More
