Stayed one night for a business trip, can't fault the rooms very well proportioned and everything you need for a comfortable stay, good service and a generous well cooked breakfast, but you would expect this for £90!

We booked in for the Sunday Lunch and were impressed by the attentive service and quality of ther food. The restaurant overlooks the sea and the views are wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful adding to the overall experience. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area, it appeared to be mainly local people on the day...

I had lunch here on new years day and it was ok. But I experienced incompetence on Sunday which will prevent me going there again. Hotel not busy when I entered about 19.00, I asked if they had a table for us ( 2 adults and 2 kids). Receptionist replied "Not really" then carried on her business as usual left...

Dear Malc_Simpson,
As you had not given me enough details on this particular visit it was difficult for me to determine exactly what had happened which is why I sent you a private message.
I am sorry that you felt the need to post such a damning review in the first instance and although we receive and appreciate constructive criticism...

Had a lovely lunch here on 14th May 2012. The staff were all so friendly and courteous something that is sadly missing in a lot of eateries. There was a good choice on the menu, but we all settled on the bucket of fish which was utterly delicious and the portion size was perfect. After seeing other diners with the...

This review is about the wonderful birthday celebration we had for my mothers 90th birthday on 1 April 2012. We were only there for lunch but it could not have been better. We were a party of 17 and were given the Strathbeg Room. The food was first class and service perfect with warm and helpful staff - nothing was...

The remote North of Aberdeenshire is not a place one expects to find all the luxury and quality of a top hotel. But Tufted Duck does this effortlessly. I took my family there for a week and we were treated extremely well in both the hotel and restaurant. Top marks for a huge well cooked breakfast and for a good...

Visited the hotel with my wife after enjoying my stay on business. Chose to stay in a suite with a sea view. Sizable room with good shower.
Dinner was superb, generous portions of really well cooked food. Breakfast was good, we both chose full scottish which we couldn't finish. Last visit i took the poached haddock and would probably go...

Try the Hairy Tatties = Exellent. Staff here are 1st class , nice to see them training local youngsters and using fresh local produce. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Looking forward to next visit in April....
I have stayed at the Tufted Duck on and off for over 15 years. The hotel now bears little in common with the previous set up. It has been very extensively refurbished and modernised. The welcome remains the same - truly stunning from all the staff. The rooms are clean and bright with slightly stark furniture but virtually nothing can...

I travel all over the UK and Europe for business and this has to be one of the most welcoming hotels I have encountered. The food and the staff are excellent and the standard of the rooms and reception areas are first class. If only other hotels in Scotland were like this!
