Although the decor was a bit dated, it has a nice homely atmosphere and was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. The hotel is situated a short walk from the little habour and beach, so was great for an early morning stroll.

Lovely old building in the center of Banff. Fiona and Spotty (the Dalmatian) welcomed us. Good sized room for a family, quirky sloping floors in both the room and bathroom, not surprising for a house built in the 1700's! Comfortable, clean and very friendy, the owners, Fiona and John make you feel like visiting friends. Great breakfast in the lovely... More

Been here many times over the past few years and would not dream of staying anywhere else in Banff during our visits. Fiona & John Calder make you so welcome in this family run hotel. It may be an old building, but that is part of its charm. The rooms are clean an airy and most are en suite, and... More

I travel extensively on business in this part of the country and book this hotel on each occasion I'm there. The simple reason is that the rooms are clean, staff extremely friendly and courteous. Breakfast is more than satisfactory. I have enjoyed each of my many stays and have no hesitation in making a recommendation to anyone who seeks a... More

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night while travelling through Scotland. This small hotel is located right in the middle of town and has off street parking at the rear. We were warmly greeted by Fiona the owner who showed us to our room. The room itself was lovely and bright and well appointed but the bathroom was... More

A fine old building and fine for an overnight stay. We were able to store our bicycles undercover in an old cellar and had comfortable bedrooms. They recommended an Indian restaurant for dinner which was very good. Breakfast was nothing special and the guests lounge where we watched the football on TV was not very clean with various items strewn... More

I agree with Davefin: we were perfectly comfortable here and were very impressed by how clean and welcoming the house was. We had everything we needed and were happy to stay in the Carmelite for a night. And as Davefin says it's a lovely old building, and could be spectacular but that would cost a fortune and the rates would... More

Very good value for money, very central with good parking, good breakfast, comfortable room and very friendly service. Lovely old building dating from the 18th century - a little dated in places (though very clean) but that is reflected in the rates. If you are looking for the Malmaison you should go elsewhere but if you want somewhere comfortable and... More

Stayed here for one night in May. Large room, was rather dated, but comfortable and clean. Breakfast in the morning was good.
