Just returned from another excellent stay at the Brentwood. Ideal location, very high standard of cleanliness, service and food make every stay a pleasure. Staff have just the right balance between professionalism and friendliness. 24 hour reception ensures security at all times.

I recently spent the weekend here. First impressions of my room were that it was ok if not a little cold. I went for a shower shortly after arrival and I can safely say it is the worst shower in the world. There was absolutely no water pressure, and when I went to brush my teeth the water pressure from... More

Great hotel, rooms clean and well appointed. Our room was at the front and so a little noisy at night from the street. Breakfasts cooked to order and good choice. Bar cosy with lots of good ales. Price was very good for over the weekend.

Stayed here recently on business. Pros: - Free parking. - OK location. - Price (expensive, but cheaper than some other local hotels). - Neutral decoration. Cons: - Poor breakfast: cheap sausages, cold pale toast, poor buffet selection. - Service: on arrival I had to wait for reception staff to finish their conversation before I could check in, even though I... We stayed in a twin room. The room and bathroom were well appointed, scrupulously clean and spacious. Comfy beds. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was beautifully cooked to order. We got a space in the limited free hotel parking at the back, which was a bonus. Great location within easy walking distance of shops and city centre. Will definitely... More

The rate at the weekend was outstandingly good and reasonable during the week and included a full and great breakfast... Very clean and helpful staff and comfortable bed and reasonable facilities all round and just off Union street

Stayed a couple of nights recently and it was fine. Staff are all well mannered, rooms are clean and comfy. Breakfast is served to order (which is a bit unusual nowadays) but it is very good. Nice central location Does what it says on the tin. Would recommend.

After a long absence I stayed at the Brentwood for 2 nights last weekend. The staff are still as friendly and obliging as I remember from before, comfortable room, excellent service, good food and all for a very competitive price.

Well, the only down is the very small rooms and the window would not shut. The good is it's city centre location and it's cost effective price. I have eaten here several tines, the food is fair and the menu honest and basic. Good hotel for a business traveller but I would not bring a partner here for a weekend... More

Great location for city. Rooms cramped double and single bed in my room. Bathroom, if you could call it that, was tiny and you could not even stand in front of the toilet as sink in way. Slept well and bed comfy. Breakfast in room, no Weetabix? Overall hotel was functional but would lookelse where next time.
