Previously a hotel then a religious cult centre (so I'm told) the Summerhill has recently been refurbished with pleasant decor throughout. Simple, functional reception area manned by friendly professional staff and with night porter for security. Hotel features restaurant for well-priced bar meals, and a bar - don't venture to the bar downstairs, use the residents' bar. Comfortable, spacious room... more

My Partner and I stayed at this Hotel for two nights as we had traveled from Newcastle for a concert. Once we checked in and went to our room we found we had been given a twin instead of double, when this was reported to reception we were told no other rooms were available but our stay would now be... more

I stayed for one night in transit and I found the place to be pretty par for the course for Aberdeen. The hotel is oddly situated north of Anderson Drive on the edge of a sprawling council housing scheme. It is not really within walking distance of anywhere one might reasonably want to go. As previously reported the exterior is... more

The surrounding area at night is a little intimidating and it didn't feel totally safe to leave my car in the adjacent car park. The room itself was ok but the biggest complaint for me was the fish I ate in the restaurant, part of which tasted disgusting and smelled like urine. Overall this was one of the worst stays... more

When you arrive at the hotel, the surrounding area makes you think you've made a boo-boo. Don't be put off by this. Inside the hotel it is very modern. We chose a double suite as we like a bit more space. The room was clean and very well equipped, with small kitchen area, with fridge, microwave, iron and board and... more

As I booked this Hotel on behalf of my colleagues my first reaction was "what have I done? What a hole!" once you get over the shock of the buildings exterior, crazy entrance through the adjoining shopping area carpark, the staff where great! Room was fine, clean, well appointed! It was crazy, this hotel had all I needed for a... more

Our one night stay at the Summerhill Hotel & Suites was booked by our traveling companions, and having read some of the reviews our expectations were quite low. The worst aspect of the hotel is definitely its location which has been commented on at length by most other reviewers. Whatever refurbishment has been done on the hotel has certainly not... more

I stayed at this Hotel for two nights with a Colleague as part of a business trip. It was extremely disapointing and rather filthy for the price paid. The room that I had been given certainly had not seen the hoover as the previous guest(s) had proceeded to leave their toe nails on the carpet. when I asked for a... more

What an odd place. The small entrance gives little indication about the size of the hotel. Designed after some bad acid I reckon. The lifts go to intermediate floors, so you always have to climb stairs! The hotel ran out of hot water. My room was minute. The staff were friendly but strangely detached from the whole affair. Not a... more

I gave this hotel a go because it was the only accommodation left in Aberdeen at short notice, in spite of some poor reviews. If they charged £30 a night, you could accept the mediocrity, but for over £100p.n. the standards are extremely poor indeed. The room is decent enough, but the minibar was completely empty, and room service carried... more
