We enjoyed the hotel bar & restaurant. The bar had atmosphere & the restaurant food was very very good as was the service. Our room was a superior double. It was disappointing. A bit on the small side. No dressing table area to sit & do hair, just a mirror on the wall. The shower area was tight too, with... More

We recently had dinner in the bistro to celebrate our friends anniversary. The atmospher is fantastic and the venue had a real wow factor. Staff were friendly and welcoming and couldnt have done more to make the evening special. The food is fantastic and I had the best steak I have ever tasted...even beating the Waldorf Estoria in New York... More

Have often stayed at this comfortable hotel. I enjoy the comfortable rooms and crisp linen. Menus has changed since my last visit, lovely piece if sea bass. However all that aside it is the friendly staff that make the difference. Compliments to Evelina in the restaurant, knew the menu inside out, gave me enough time and space to enjoy each... More

My comments relate to two visits in January. The first was a business dinner. The food was decidedly average. I had a pasta dish that was over cooked. It;s a great venue - no doubt about that.Visitors in business feel comfortable there because there is an air of expectation that you are going to get reasonable food at a reasonable... More

We had lunch here the other day and have vowed now not to return after another very disappointing experience. The food, although nice was cold and the service was slow despite there being only three/four other tables with guests. My husband received the wrong sauce for his steak and despite waiters going passed our table we could not get a... More

I have eaten in Mal in Aberdeen probably around 10-12 times (not my choice!). EVERY SINGLE TIME the service has been terrible. Slow, rude and unhelpful is standard here. The food is good, and I love the cocktails. Unfortunately the staff are totally incompetent. Now the Chester is open hopefully never have to go here again!!

Stayed for one night. Room was lovely. We ate in the restaurant. Service was barely average. Food was edible, but nothing to write home about (we did not eat steak – maybe that’s where we went wrong). Only shining light in the whole evening were the bar staff. I found them totally professional, efficient and they went that little bit... More

Today I had lunch at the resteraunt in Malmaison Aberdeen. I thought since the interior was very upmarket and the bar area was too that the food would be of the same standard. How wrong was I! First of all we ordered soup of the day. Which after asking a second waiter what it was because we couldn't understand the... More

thank you for your feedback, from your comments I can only assume you were here on Sunday brunch as only on Sundays we do serve the soup in a mug! It is a daring choice but we think its cool and more relaxed and fits into our Sunday Brunch ethos, I do apologise for the mis-understanding of the soup flavours,... More

Booked this hotel as a surprise get away for myself & husband. Book the "Superior" double as it read well on the website. Have to say there was very little about it that i found "superior" Shower was mouldy, bog standard bath with taps at the end so you couldn't share it with your partner, a real let down. Plus... More

thank you for your feedback, I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. I can assure you we have a program of refilling the bathrooms on regular basis with fresh silicone, and I am sorry you have had to experience a below par room standard. Our food prices are in line with our competitors in the city, and we... More
