I booked and got a room to myself. There was plenty of space for my stuff, an armchair and bedside table, lamp and rail to hang clothes. However, I was disappointed with a number of things: uncomfortable mattress that gave me backache after 2 nights; also that there was only one double socket, hidden behind my bed. The room was... A great hostel with all the expected amenities providing a comfortable night's sleep in cosy rooms away from Aberdeen's quite cold and windy climate. It's slightly out of the centre which is not a bad thing

My hire car GPS had difficulty in finding this place. However once there it was comfortable and clean. It was also quite secure. I arrived late and had to leave early and was quite comfortable for the time I was there. It is expensive but much less so than other accommodation in the area. Massive kitchen, so ideal for those... I stayed in the twin room for one night. The hostel is clean and the staff are helpful. The heating was turned off so I asked reception to turn it on but they said it was not working, so they provided us with a couple of brand new duvets. The twin room is nicely decorated and comes with towels. The... More

We only spent one night at this hostel. Good position (15 min on foot from the city centre), free car park, free internet connection in the hall, good breakfast considering the price (£ 3,85 pp). Clean room with bunkbeds: the only window couldn't be opened and 3 of the 4 sockets didn't work. We didn't try the showers, but toilets... More

Shared rooms good for students or someone who just want to stay for a short while. Basic hostel with everything you need. Very friendly staff always willing to help. Parking for a couple of cars in the front.

Maybe I'm not as fussy as the other reviewers, but I thought the hostel was fine. A bit older, quite expensive (but, Aberdeen) and the wifi sucked, but fine. The staff were nice (makes a big difference) and the place was comfy. I stayed here for nearly three weeks whilst completing a summer project with the university, because the prices... More

I usually have good experiences at Scottish youth hostels. I'm not looking for 5 star accommodations, just somewhere friendly, inexpensive and clean. This was the most disappointing hostel I have stayed at in Scotland. The front of the hostel isn't particularly inviting as there is a picnic table permanently inhabited by smokers making it impossible for non-smokers to have a... More

Many reviews I read prior to booking were not favorable. However, our experience was pleasant. Price wise, can't beat it for this wildly overpriced city. Forget B&B's.....these are pretty well reserved for oil workers or other such out of town guests who stay for weeks rather than just a day or two.(I was told this by a B&B owner, who... More

I stayed overnight at this hostel for one night because it was the cheapest accommodation in Aberdeen. The hostel is located a least 20-30 minutes walking from rail station and has nothing but office buildings nearby. The room and facilities are standard for a hostel. Iwas there for a night and did not use any facilities, apart from toilet and... More
