As many other people have noted this hostel's cost is extortionate but it appears that the entire Aberdeen hotel industry have reached a joint agreement to charge crazy prices and the result is that, while obviously terrible value for the quality, SYHA Aberdeen is indeed the least expensive bed in town. Location is in in the middle of an extensive... More

Used more by Employed clientele, and some others seeking work coming from all over the World; the Hostel itself reminded me of the travellers Hostels I stayed in Amsterdam and London many years ago. The Hostel is set in a very upmarket street, the main entrance into the building reflects the rest of the interior, clean but drab and very... More

This hostel is in a great location, it's very clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is lovely! There is a nice big kitchen, dining and lounge areas too! The only thing I can say against this place is that wifi was not free for guests, you do need to pay extra

the price is expensive and even with expensive price they don't give free wifi and computer access, 1 thing I am impress with this hotel only the massive kitchen, because the location is not that good.

I was there for one night with a friend, we had a private room, with an own bathroom. We are not a couple, so the double bed was kind of narrow, but we solved it. :) And for only one night it was fine. The room, and the bathromm were also clean and tidy. And yes, its a bit expensive,... More

It is the only hostel in Aberdeen, even being the cheapest way to sleep in the city it is expensive (£25) You must pay for wi-fi(!!) (£1 for 20 minuts!), for breakfast (in other hostels other cities you get at least some continental breakfast), for towels, for ear-caps...No lockers in the rooms, very difficult to find plugs. Cleanliness in average.... More

While I was well aware of the reviews I'd read before booking, it still surprised me, in a bad way. I'll start with the good things: 1) it's close to the center. 20 min to center of town, 30 to train/bus stations and a bus stop almost immediately at the doorstep. 2) quiet at night, quiet area too -all offices... This is the only hostel in Aberdeen, so it's also the cheapest way to sleep in this city. That is the only good point. Even if it's the cheapest of Aberdeen, it's an expensive hostel (25 £), you must pay for wi-fi (!!), there are no lockers in the rooms, it's really difficult to find an electric plug in the... More

We stayed here because it was the cheapest place in town and we were on a tight budget, but I would recommend trying to find a deal at another hotel if you can (easy to do on the weekend). This place was ridiculously expensive for a hostel and the quality did not match the price. We paid 90USD for two... More

Dear guest, Thank you for your review of our Hostel. Our Dorm beds start at only £22 per person and offer a good value option in Aberdeen. As advertised WiFi is available but at a charge and we do not offer mixed dorms. If you want to share with a partner, private rooms are also available. Thank you More

This hostel charged me and my friends 25 pounds per night without: breakfast, WI-FI (that they said it was "temporary" offline) and with ONE SOCKET in a 14 bed room! Additionally, the bathrooms where beyond dirty and the entire hostel smelled very bad! Awful experience even if it was only for 1 night. My advice: Pay more money and search... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your stay. Our prices are clearly advertised on all sales channels. Supplements such as breakfast and Wi-Fi are charged separately and this is clearly stated. We are in the process of upgrading the number of sockets available in our rooms. In the meantime our friendly staff would... More
