From the minute we walked into the Chester Hotel for a wedding celebration yesterday until we left the evening reception the only words to express the whole event ...WOW. The venue is beautiful, the food was amazing, staff and service was spot on and it was an amazing and enjoyable time. We didn't stay in the hotel but will be... More

Denise, events manager, was so helpful in organising my daughters graduation dinner. Restaurant manager and her team were quietly efficient. Food was superb and I do not recognise any of the criticisms which previous trip advisor reviewers have made of this hotel. The chef, of his own volition, made a lovely mortar board chocolate desert which was brought to my... More

What can I say, WOW....just WOW. Since the re open the place just looks amazing! Drinks list is spot on, food amazing... but the thing that really sets it apart was the service. Not too in your face, but always there! Top marks to the management team - you have done very very well with this! Didn't stay in hotel,... More

Overall - extremely good service and staff. I personally cannot comment on the dinners but I can comment on the bar food, drinks and service. Unfortuantely I have found the "King prawn cocktail - cocktail sauce - tempura jumbo prawn - £12" to be very poor value. But that is simply my opinion. The range of drinks and quality of... More

Lovely room - clean, well presented and an exceptionally comfortable bed. A little warm as no air conditioning and the room we had suffered from noise intrusion through an inter-connecting door. Service a little hit and miss. Dinner in the hotel's restaurant was fantastic - some of the best food we have ever eaten with a good wine list.

I had always planned to celebrate my 30th Birthday in style and that I did!!! The Chester Hotel offered the perfect venue to celebrate. The staff were very helpful in helping me organise how the event would run giving me various options to choose from. The staff on the day were there to support me from start to finish and... More

Met another couple for some drinks on Friday to try The Chester and we were left singularly unimpressed with our experience. The bar area was very clean, as would be expected from such a newly opened facility. However it lacked any atmosphere worth mentioning, and perhaps the sight of only 7 other people frequenting on a Friday night was telling... More

We treated ourselves to bed and breakfast at the new 5 star Chester Hotel (£180-£225) in the city. We were looking forward to this so much. The room was lovely, bathroom nice but very, very small. White company toiletries which was a nice touch, slippers but disappointingly no robes. We started to unpack, opened a drawer to find the previous... More

We went to The Chester for Father's Day lunch. We live in Aberdeen and eat out most weeks. Both the food and the service were faultless. We were blown away. Our daughter is 15 months old daughter and staff could not have been more engaging or attentive. She ate from the children's menu which had appropriate choice at superior quality.... More

We treated ourselves to an overnight stay and meal at this hotel to celebrate a special occasion. The room was very expensive and although it was lovely, it was surprisingly small and the bathroom had no wow factor. We dined in the restaurant and were very disappointed at the standard of food - we expected more, Our main dish of... More
