My wife and I decided to stay here whilst I was in Aberdeen on business . I know that city hotels sometimes have difficulty with parking but this is the first impression you get of a hotel ........ No where to park , no one to meet you at the door and even the entrance wasn't we'll signed . That... More

All the hype around this hotel is not warrented. Rooms ok, food ok and bar currently undergoing a make over... probably in an effort to compete with Malmaison next door. What really lets it down is the average service. Needs improvement very inconsistant.

Wonderful food and service . We took our grown up family with partners and some friends for an evening out . The food was some of the best I have ever eaten in Aberdeen . The service was superb and there was a good atmosphere . A very stylish setting . I would definitely recommend this hotel .

Was up in Aberdeen on business for 4 nights. Thought I would stay in this hotel as close to office. Checked online as this hotel had been fully refurbished as previously stayed here when it was the Simpsons. On checking in I was informed the bar was being refurbished ( strange I thought as hotel not been open long )... More

Dear shysterLincolnshire, I regret you had a poor experience at the hotel. We endeavoured to contact all our guests in advance about the refurbishment of our bar to advise them, and clearly we did not get this message to you in time. I do apologise for that. Though you have stated you will not return to stay as a guest,... More

I would like to start by stating that The Chester in Aberdeen is a great hotel - the decore is tasteful and modern, as well as being very clean, tidy and comfortable. The dark decoration may make it feel a bit dark in places, but it does not detract from the overall feel of the place. The staff are young but... More

Dear 63Richardt, Thank you for the feedback. It was refreshing to read about the staff and how they interacted with you as a customer. We do spend a lot of time training the team, and hiring the best people to do the job. I apologise for the issues regarding temperature within the rooms. Though we did find you a comfortable... I feel I should be able to give this more than an average rating but a couple of points let it down. Let me start with the good bits. I really like the modern decor and the rom is stylishly furnished and quite large. Also has a nice bathroom and great dressing gowns. Staff in reception are very friendly and... More

Dear David J, It is the small things that make all the difference. Thank you so much for complimenting us on our hotel. The décor, service etc. These are all great points to highlight to the audience that will be reading this review. The small things though, we must improve upon. Our housekeeping team will be investigating why half used... More

Only stayed 1 night , happy with room although quite small for a grand double. Efficient and friendly check in . Disappointed with the residents bar which was two thirds occupied by groups of non residents having afternoon teas . Bar staff had difficulty understanding the order for a gin and slim line tonic and produced a gin and lime... More

Dear KevinP, Thank you for sharing your experience at the Chester Hotel. I was sorry to read that our bar team did not perform to the standard that is required of them. We have been able to identify the staff involved, and will be re training them on certain elements of service in order to improve. This service training will... More

This hotel was a last minute choice for an overnight stay. It has a modern decor which is tasteful and attractive. The very comfortable room had a lovely big bed and nice bedding. The bar meal we had was very good, lovely crispy, light batter on the haddock and tasty smoked cod. All the staff we encountered were pleasant and... More

Dear hjoanc2013, Thank you for taking the time to write about our hotel, and the stay that you experienced. Big modern rooms, good food and friendly staff. Everything that the team at the hotel are striving to deliver to every guest that walks in our doors. Not everything was 100% though, for which I apologise. Cold plates with hot food... More

First visit to Aberdeen Chester, as Edinburgh Chester being one of our favourite hotels, so this visit was going to have to match their high standards, we were not disappointed. Dear Mhairi, Thank you for sharing your opinion of the hotel. I regret you found what we had on offer 'bland'. Clearly this is not our intention, but to please everyone in hospitality is always tricky. I am glad though that you did not find the service or food offerings to be poor in anyway. I am unsure how to... More
