This was our second stay at the hotel this year. Upon arrival we received a very warm and friendly welcome from Julie on reception. Nothing was too much trouble. The other staff were very friendly and helpful also including Frazer the reception manager, who ordered a taxi for us on our departure back to the railway station. Rooms were very... More

Wonderfully old fashioned hotel in what was once a large house. Has a restaurant and pub attached. No lift! Can be up to two flights of stairs. But they have two young men to carry luggage. Front desk is very helpful. Restaurant and pub staff are charming. Rooms are a comfortable size, beds are comfortable and all is very clean.... More

We stayed at this hotel in September 2014 and had a very nice stay. The reception and restaurant staff were welcoming and efficient. The bedroom was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The restaurant food at both dinner and breakfast was of a very good standard. I would definitely stay here again.

Went for Lunch at The Atholl, good food , reasonably priced in nice surroundings. Good service food was tasty and the bar/ restaraunt area was spotlessly clean and the staff were smartly turned out ,helpful and polite. Civilized place to visit for a meal.

Fabulously friendly, a professionally run hotel with every attention to detail by the staff which was greatly appreciated by us. From Highland Spring water in our room to the complimentary items in the bathroom and a mug not a cup for your hot chocolate in your room. This hotel knows how to be a good host. You can feel the... Aberdeen is a hard place to secure a decent 4 star hotel during the week at a sensible price. However the Atholl definitely ticks all the boxes. It is located in a cracking setting in the West End of Aberdeen, with private parking. More importantly the hotel is independent and located in a stunning old granite building. I was checked... More

This is a good hotel, and due to the fact that it is difficult to find any hotel rooms at all in Aberdeen it is extremely expensive. Whether it is worth the money depends entirely on your point of view, but let's face it, they don't throw rose petals over you as you enter the lobby. It has an acceptable... More

Due to a central heating failure and weekend delay for a part, my wife and I stayed here from Friday to Monday. Its a very well regarded hotel. I already know that the food is great, the staff are also excellent. Unfortunately our room was merely average, with an outdated shower and very small tv. The internet was also very... More

We appreciate your recent review and thank you for taking the time to write it. Your comments on the shower and water temperature have helped us identify a fault with a mixer valve within the tap assembly. As a precaution we are now in the process of replacing all similar shower mixer valves throughout this wing of the hotel. Once... More

Stayed here for one night on business based on a recommendation from a local colleague. The Atholl is a medium sized family run hotel up the hill on the west side of the city centre. It's location was particularly suitable for me as I was visiting the Royal Infirmary nearby. It was a Sunday night and I couldn't believe how... More

The Atholl is a locals favourite bar and restaurant. Having spent years in Aberdeen's hotels, I can vouch that the Atholl is without doubt the best run with the most attentive professional staff. The food is good wholesome unpretentious and good value. That said the fish and chips is the best I've had our seen in any hotel here. Highly... More
