We used to live in this part of Aberdeenshire and frequented this hotel often. Then we moved and we had heard it had gone downhill. The people who own it now have restored it to it's original glory.
The food was fabulous, the staff were as nice as they possibly could be and the rooms were terrific - great value...

Great location, great food, great room and great service. I was delighted with this quaint little seaside hotel. The room was lovely with a huge bed and a lovely view. The food was absolutely fantastic. A traditional Aberdeenshire menu. The staff were lovely, helpful and most of all personable. A great little hotel. I would definitely come back.
Mold in the shower, exposed wires in the room, 1/2 inch of dust on the baseboards. Ew, ew , ew and ick. Also, WAY outside of Aberdeen.
Only stayed overnight when returning to Aberdeenshire for the funeral of a relative. The entrance to this hotel, once renowned for its food and very popular with fishermen, was hardly recognisable as a hotel entrance.

This is a quaint hotel in a great location close to the seal colonies.
The food is pretty good but the chips can be a hit or a miss depending on who is cooking and the breakfast bacon was rock hard and inedible.
Very pleasant staff.
A bedside table would not have gone amiss and couldn't see in the mirrors...

I was taken through the...

After booking the hotel via late rooms. I was pleasantly surprised by it for although locked in time for what can be done to the hotel the rooms were very clean a bit dated, as was the public room.
I was on the upper floor with a dormer window looking onto the car park and estuary, watching the wildlife was...

What a gem of place. Full of character and history. Friendly owners and staff who are full of chat and stories. Superb food and home of the iconic sticky toffee pudding. So much to do in the area: castles, beaches, seal colonies.
