I had to find a reasonably priced room for two nights, with less than two weeks notice. I'm very pleased that the very budget places were fully booked as this one is still very reasonably priced (I felt, and I travel a lot with work and therefore have plenty to compare it with) and certainly great value for the service... Stayed at the Jay's on 11/12 February 2015 whole at the SubseaUK Expo at the Aberdeen Exhibition centre. Hotels were sold out and more expensive. The location was good for me as I could walk into the town centre, and take a local bus to and from the Exhibition Centre. The very full English breakfast was cooked immediately before being... Hi Richard Thank you for taking the time to provide your positive review. I can assure you that our beds are of the highest quality and we are often complimented on them. However I do understand that personal preferences are important, so I accept your observation as just that. Regards, George. More

As anyone who knows Aberdeen will appreciate, rooms are at a premium. I felt this was a little over priced £75 for a small single room bed and breakfast for one night. Anywhere else I would have expected to pay £40 to £50. On the plus side the room was very warm, extremely clean and the folk were very welcoming,... More

Hi Eileen Thank you for taking time to post a review and let me address some of your points. I do not understand your point regarding the tariff - but I deduce that like a lot of visitors to Aberdeen, you are not happy with the cost of accommodation in our prosperous city. I can assure you that we are... More

I spent 2 nights here while on a workshop and initially turned to guest houses because hotels were either booked or too expensive - and am really glad about having made this choice. Location was ideal as I had to be at the university library (a nice 15 minute walk), rooms are cosy, wifi connection was perfect, the bed was... More

Typical Aberdeen b&b and a good place to stay with decent parking..... advertised as en-suite but they are not but you do have individual bathrooms but not connected to your room they are totally separate.... breakfast was good and decent sausages not like some places that use cheap stuff.......

Hi Thanks for taking time to post a review, but a more accurate one would have been helpful. Your statement - 'advertised as en-suite but they are not.' - is totally inaccurate. If you view our web site you will see that we advertise that we have 10 rooms - 8 of which are EN-SUITE and 2 that have private... More

Hi Chris Thank you for your positive review and we are glad that you enjoyed the varied breakfasts. We endeavour to give our guests a taste of the local cuisine, which of course being Aberdeen, has to include fish. Hope to see you again soon. Regards, George and Alice. More

Comfortable, clean and very welcoming. My single room was good-sized and had an armchair and desk which was a useful extra. The owners were very engaging and helpful with local information and places to visit. Thoroughly recommended.

Having never stayed in a guest house before, normally staying in hotels, I was a bit nervous about being in somebodies "home". With the average price of a cheap hotel being £160 a night, I decided to give The Jays a go. What a great decision, George and Alice are lovely people, making you feel at home from the moment...
