I recently stayed in the Carmelite Hotel for 3 days. My car was garaged in there lockup during my stay(at the cost of £10 per day). When I collected it I found that the bonnet was covered in footprints from birds/animals and that there were several deep scratches in the paintwork, the whole car was also covered in bird droppings... The staff at this hotel are all great. The public rooms are very nice, well-furnished and comfortable. So I was surprised to go to my small bedroom and find myself in the worst room I have ever had in the U.K. Neaby rooms were being refurbished and so perhaps they will all be done soon. Further indications of intended redecoration... More

I recently stayed at the Carmelite Hotel and stayed in one of the suites. The suites were decorated really nice and were very spacious. Was disappointed by the bathroom products, shower gels and shampoos were lined up on the floor of the shower - no shelves or nice presentation with them. The room had gimmicky jelly bean machine, old style... More

After being booked in to the hotel that day, I arrived at 12ish to be told that my room would not be ready till after 2'o clock. So off to the cinema to kill time, back after 4'o clock and still not ready, eventually I'm in. I book an early call for 0430 and told I could have tea, coffee... More

Attended a function here at the weekend. Good location right by train station and city centre. Theres no specific hotel parking so park on the street or in the nearby Trinity Centre. Nice function room with its own bar. Plenty of attentive, friendly staff. Bar prices were ok. Quite funky decor which I liked. Would return. More

Held my 30th birthday party at the Carmelite, a perfectly located hotel near the train station and city centre. From start to finish the staff were very attentive, helpful and polite. Bibiana gave us all the information and assistance we needed to arrange the event beforehand. Alan who was looking after us on the night and his colleagues, all fantastic,... More

My husband and I booked our wedding here in March 2012 and it was the absolute perfect day. Not only did the hotel coordinate and manage the whole day, they managed to do so with no hiccups or sudden surprises (which I hear can happen at weddings). I booked two suites the night before the wedding for my bridesmaids and... More

I'd recommend the cocktails, especially the Hendriks coffee-time Martini, it was very nice. However I wouldn't bother with the Afternoon tea cake stand, hardly any sandwiches each (2 fingers) and the scones were stale and when I asked for a plain one it came, hot on the outside and frozen in the middle. A disappointing birthday experience. More

Stayed here for my daughters birthday party. Attentive and pleasant staff with good food and service made our evening. A later afternoon meal was good quality and affordable. A recently renovated room completed an enjoyable experience plus breakfast at a sensible time ( served up to 11 am) finished off an experience I will repeat in future. More

Very centrally located in Aberbeen - nice smallish hotel - had 2 single rooms which where fine and generally nicely decorated and clean - although some little bits needed smartening up. Could have done with another taller light in the room - it was a bit dark. Excellent powerful shower. Bar lounge area was fine and liked the Jenga games... More
