Our stay here was punctuated by a fire alarm at 3am, during which checks weren't made on whether everyone was out safely and guests were left to their own devices (no guidance on where to wait safely etc - parents left shivering with small children in the arctic North Sea wind for 45 minutes). Although the hotel is that bit older, I felt it was wearing well, and had improved facilities from my last stay 20 years ago. This is a dire, dour hotel - an ugly buidling in an ugly location sufficiently far from the centre of Aberdeen that it requires significant effort to get into the city centre (which is actually worth it).
