Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian is an elegant Victorian hotel overlooking Union Terrace Gardens in the city centre. The locally-inspired design, with its Renaissance style of architecture in white Kemnay granite with stained glass windows, reflects Aberdeen's rich and varied heritage - from the harbour and beach to the many beautiful castles with their colourful histories. Located in the city centre, the hotel is ideal for guests attending for both business and leisure. Guests can enjoy afternoon tea, a snack or a light meal in the elegant Bistro restaurant. Relax and unwind with a selection of international dishes cooked to perfection by our chef, before grabbing yourself a drink or two at the bar. Away from the hotel, guests can experience the majesty of Union Terrace Gardens. The main train station is just a ten-minute walk away, while Aberdeen's old fishing Village, Fittie, is just a short distance further. From the A90, follow signs for the city centre and Union Street. Half way down the main thoroughfare, turn left on to Union Terrace, Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian Hotel is on the left after approximately 100 yards.

Celebrated my sons 21st birthday in the Terrace suite. Had a fantastic time! Check in done very efficiently by Egle at Reception. Kevin was the disc jockey absolutely fantastic music and a great guy kept the party going. The staff were amazing the buffet was lovely and the night was faultless. Our stay in the hotel was comfortable only one thing was flat pillows but was told that there were ones in the wardrobe I would just suggest putting them on the bed as was not actively looking for them would be better having two per person. Breakfast was lovely and Katie was very efficient always with a smile. Special thanks to Peter for ensuring our day went so smoothly. Thanks to all the Caley team.

Good central location and after a day of walking about a nice relaxing bar / restaurant with some lovely staff…… looking at you Katie!!! The reception is great and the parking suitable with a very clean and welcoming room maybe needing a little spruce up but all said it’s very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is really good so be sure to grab this as part of your trip.

Great central location. Very clean in all areas. All staff really friendly and helpful especially Hugh in dining room and ladies at breakfast. First room we were given was awful. It was very small and dark, extremely hot with no window, just a perspex screen overlooking a dire, dirty, internal small area. I immediately requested a move which was swiftly accommodated to a much nicer room. Great customer service on this matter. There is a vast difference between the rooms as it is a very old hotel which therefore had no air con. Rooms were very hot as the heating seemed to be on permanently. Radiators could be turned off and windows could be opened a few inches but if you are at the front of the hotel it gets very noisy from the road below and the venue over the park playing loud music until 2am. Bed was not very comfortable but shower was wonderful and wi fi worked well. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food and staff were both excellent. Breakfast staff very good, even remembering our 3 room numbers, but food was a bit hit and miss. Fruit juice was really watered down one day, coffee was tasteless and stewed. When it was busy the hot food was not topped up quickly which meant that some items were not available. Overall not a bad stay but not great either.

The staff are friendly and welcoming, the room spacious and comfortable. The location is ideal being pretty central. It was a lovely surprise to find haggis on the breakfast menu, and we certainly tucked in! The bar and restaurant are good too.

Asked to change my room but none available, would have got my money back but was not able to due to had dinner booked. All round the room was very dingy brown decor. Bathroom had cracking paint and black mould on the bath. Not what you expect from a 4 star hotel vey disappointed ☹️

This was a very handy place to stay in Aberdeen being in the city centre, friendly staff and the rooms were fantastic, I’ve stayed here multiple times and have never been let down. The cost also was in the right means so I didn’t have to spend massive amounts of money unlike other places.
