Well, i must admit that i was surprised, pleasantly surprised, about my overnight stay at the Britannia Hotel in Aberdeen. I had inquired about this Hotel that my Ship mates, and I, would be staying in for one night prior to us going home via flying, mostly, after being away for four weeks. and the reviews, from TripAdvisor were, I am... With a very weary looking exterior, a collection of guests hanging around the front door smoking, and a large pile of cardboard boxes in what seemed to be the main lounge, on arrival the omens were not good. Reception was efficient and friendly and my room was comfortable and well equipped, though not as clean as a Premier Inn would... More

On arrival was met at reception by a man who looked to be chewing a wasp, no hello or welcome, nothing. We booked in and after being given directions to the lift that would take us some of the way to our room, we walked the corridors in absolute amazement at how run down stained and worn out the decor... This hotel, was a bit Fawlty Towers.... the receptionist was lovely and helpful! Whilst checking in there were 2 people playing Xbox, drinking lager and swearing like troopers! The loby seeating area was full of beds that had just been delivered. The rooms were very dated, and a bit grubby. The restaurant was again dated, food not great standard, it... More

Dear Guest Im sorry that your stay with us was not what you had desired. Indeed there was a delivery of over 40 beds on the day of your arrival which we had ordered to improve our guest experience and the lounge had to be utilised briefly for storage. I take on board your comments and as you may see... More

Okay so first impressions aren’t good. The hotel looks odd, there is no garden and the main concrete entrance is down a scruffy side street in a drab suburb of Aberdeen which can be tricky to find. Car Parking; the hotel has its own car park which is free to guests [you have to register at reception.] If full there... More

I didn't pay much for my room but then you don't pay much for a lodge or an inn and u expect higher standards with a hotel, the dust in the room was unreal I actually went round with a hand towel to get rid of it all especially when the lampshade was lined with dust, I wouldn't advice anyone... We stayed here for 2 nights with our dog. Room was clean and spacious. Had dinner on one of the nights and it was so tasty. Staff were lovely. We will be back here. I would recommend the place to anyone. Only charge £10 per night for our dog. He was allowed in the bar where we had our lovely... More

This hotel does not deserve 3 stars. It would be pushing it to earn 1 star!! Mould on shower curtain. Toilet not working and had to be pumped 3 or 4 times to flush. Shower cold. Light in bathroom has no cover and the starter is going as it takes 5 to 10 seconds before coming on. Tiling not finished... More

Dear Guest Im sorry that your experience of staying with us at the Britannia hotel was not a pleasant one, I would be interested to know the room number you stayed in. As I have said in other responses recently I have audited all our bedroom stock to see what is required and this work has already begun. More

What an absolute dump of an hotel! My room had four single beds in and wasn't cleaned very well, the bathroom was full of mould and the bins had not been emptied! The bar is full of stained and ripped seats, and the breakfast I would not even give to my dog!! Basically avoid this place like the plague!!

Good hotel with nice facilities, few miles outside Aberdeen but so easy by taxi or bus. Nice food and bar, very fair priced drinks, not like in the city centre. Plenty of places round about for food, worth a visit
