Lovely helpful staff at the hotel. Had a family lunch for 15 in the library. The room was perfect and decorated by the staff. Nice menu and food was good. Thoroughly recommend for a private small function.

I arrived late and went straight to get something to eat. The waitress was rude and had no knowledge of the menu and no product knowledge. Had to send back my cheese and biscuits 2 times and still not gluten free as listed on the menu. I finally gave in, and took my wine to my room to watch tv.... More

Helpful staff. Good food and beverages. Busy with oilfield personnel and helicopter crews. Airport noise shuts down between 11pm and 7am. Easy access to highways and bus service to central Aberdeen and mainline rail station. Scenic drives to Buchan, Coastal towns and Deeside.

Could be good but little things let it down. The steak I had for my tea was perfect, the onion rings and mushrooms didn't look freshly cooked, the loaded potato would have been ok if the topping was mixed in with the potato, it wasn't which meant it was very dry. The room was nice and bathroom recently refurbed by... More

Recently stayed here on business. Try and avoid the lower floor rooms. They are both small and cramped, literally no where to place your case. The breakfast was ok but not that hot as was the soup in the evening which was sent back. Overall the food was good and the service polite

Most hotels in Aberdeen are priced ludicrously high, the Craighaar is one of the cheaper ones and is reasonable value for money. There is a difference between "reasonable" and "good". The hotel is clearly going through a refurbishment program and the new bits are nice, tastefully done in a contemporary style. I stayed for two nights and was placed in... More

We are a group of Ladies who get together about every 3 months and it was the Craighaar's turn to feed and water us. There was about 6 of us this time, we ordered our drinks and then our food, we had a bit of a wait for the food but would not fault it when it arrived, our only... More

I visit The Craighaar on reggular basis and the hotel is pretty good with nice clean and warm rooms. I regret though the quality of the food leaves much to be desired. On one of my recent visits I asked for the breaded fish, being on the coast I thought it would be fresh however it was dry and had... More

Robertaberdeen, director at Craighaar Hotel, responded to this review

The fish is fresh, delivered daily; any suggestion to the contrary is unfortunate and misleading; all suppliers are the quality ones you would expect; the steaks are from donald russells; and the vegetables are fresh, again delivered daily. The fully loaded baked potato is exactly as described on the menu ie with sour cream, bacon bits, and grated cheese. Im sorry... More

This is a nice hotel outside Aberdeen with clean and comfortable rooms. The food that I had was of good quality. I picked this hotel as it was the right side of Aberdeen for this trip out near the airport. Maybe a bit too close to the airport for some as it can be a little noisy at times but... More
