The hotel itself is magnificent - located within 10 minutes walking from Union Street and the city centre. Rooms are spacious, have a decent size bath. Central heating is excellent and breakfast is hearty and delicious. Sea food selection is very good. The interior is very good and the design is very well thought off. The only inconvenience I could... More

Whilst I greatly appreciate your glowing report and the high rating you have given us - I still requested to have this review removed by trip advisor. They have refused; whilst it is ok for you to mention a member of my staff by name ,I may not mention yours....but that's an issue for another day! Agnieszka is a charming,... More

I am currently staying here for the second time on business and have found The Mariner to be an excellent base. It is a pleasant and friendly place to stay with good access to all local areas. The main attraction is that this is not some soulless hotel chain, it's a small friendly venue with very pleasant staff. The bar... More

We found this hotel by accident, and thank goodness we did. It is one of the best places in Aberdeen. The service was excellent, a good choice of menu.. We chose the 3 course meal for only £20.0o including coffee, cannot fault anything at all we shall be back.

I stay at the Mariner Hotel regularly, when on business in Aberdeen. Service is warm and friendly without being at all intrusive. It is very efficiently run - I have never had a single problem, issue or complaint in all the times I have stayed there. Rooms are nicely furnished and very comfortable. The decor is a little dated, perhaps,... More

I chose the Mariner due to it's location close to, but not directly on the busy A90. It's in a quiet residential area in the west end of Aberdeen, a good 20 to 30 minutes' walk/ 5 minutes' drive from the town centre, train station, etc. The 'nautical theme' is just the right amount - enough to give it character... Many thanks for taking the time to review the hotel - glad you enjoyed your stay with us. we appreciate the feedback in regards to the breakfast - which I have passed on to the Head Chef. You are quite correct regarding the breakfast staff - holiday cover meant that you had a different bod each day! (my usual breakfast... More

Small cosy hotel within easy reach of city centre. All the staff I met were friendly and polite, the room was spacious and comfortable with the whitest bed linen I have ever seen. The hotel bar was warm and friendly with a good selection of whiskies and a good real ale. However the breakfast was by far and away the... More

Recently had a meal at the Mariner for my Step-son's birthday - the hotel were aware of the occasion and made his birthday meal a special one! On arrival we were shown to the most magnificent glass topped carved table with a bottle of fizzy thrown in. Michael served our table and his natural charm and bonhomme made us all... More

We stayed here by accident after being 'bumped' out of another hotel. We weren't quite sure what to expect but this small/medium sized hotel ticked all the boxes for us. The bar food was excellent, the bar had a good atmosphere, they were very teenager friendly, the location was close to the city (5 mins in a cab) and the... More
