We had a great time in Derry. Our accomodation was a plus. Kathleen the hostess had made our room up beautifully. Our breakfast was as ordered and superbly cooked. Kathleen was very friendly and helped us with lots of information regarding the town. Our clothes were in desperate need of washing and we asked Kathleen where the nearest laundry was. She... more

I think some of the comments made about this B&B are very unfair. We have stayed here on a number of occasions over the past 3 years, and have never had any cause for complaint either abiout the accomodation or the area. more

For starters, travelers should note that Derry is still a very sketchy town. It has not yet experienced the rebound that Belfast has from the "troubles" (as the locals call it), and the "peace lines" (giant fences separating Catholic and Protestant communities) are rather disturbing. Sunbeam House is extremely convenient to the middle of Derry and is in fact the... more

Wow, what a beauty. I wasn't sure from the outside, but once in, my goodness it was just what we needed after a long, hot day on the road. John and Siobhan are very gracious hosts. The room was great for the 3 of us and the breakfast was the best. We would recommend to anyone, to come and stay... more

A beautiful b&b, ideal for a couple of friends travelling around Derry for a weekend away or a short stay. I stayed for three days and managed to see all I planned! It was well worth spending time along the city walls which have local artwork. You must visit the local Shopping Centre- only £3 by cab!! A lovely stay... more

Derry was one of our favorite places in Ireland, and Sunbeam House really contributed to our impressions. It's very conveniently located--just 2 blocks from the walled city area--and the owners are wonderful, friendly and helpful. Maybe they were a bit TOO helpful in recommending a great pub whose regulars bought my husband more pints than he could handle ("C'mon, you're... more

Good centrally located value for money. This small friendly place is only 5 minutes walk from the city gates. We stayed in a very clean and cosy room. Only feedback was it was quite small room. This was not a problem for us as we did not spend much time there. Big hearty breakfasts and warm homely service. more

I was in charge of booking hotel rooms for 6 people in Derry for a friend's wedding...and got completely lucky with the Sunbeam. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The bathroom, while not attached to our room, was on the same floor and solely for our use...also very clean. (There was a sink in the room.) The single room I... more

We have just returned from a week at Sunbeam House. The accomodation is 1st class and the personal attention from Siobhan, John and Frances was superb. They know all their guests by first names, and address them as such whenever they meet. Even an active, noisy 2 years old did not upset them. We will certainly be back to this... more
