Really lovely B&B we stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The owner is very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast is served to order and the beds are very comfy. It is clear it has been recently renovated and they've done a great job with those little touches.

We spent 10 days at the Briers. the room was fantastic and the breakfast equally so. We could not fault the Briers in anyway or Maureen, who had plenty of time to help us with suggestions about places to visit. myself and my wife cannot recommend the Briers enough. Thank you Maureen.

Touring Ireland with a group of 8 plus a tour leader, we stayed here our first 2 nights of tour. The gardens were beautiful with facilities to sit and enjoy an afternoon get together. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and cooked to order, best fruit salad I've ever had, with all the good stuff, blueberries,... More

We stayed here overnight. Lovely welcome from Maureen. The hotel is situated in beautiful countryside with great views. Our rooms(we were travelling with friends) were absolutely beautiful. Decorated and finished to a very high standard. Tea/coffee making in the room and we also relaxed in a sitting room downstairs where refreshments were available. Breakfast was truly excellent. Wonderful buffet offering... More

I took my partner for a birthday weekend in the Mournes. The Briers is in a great location, not far from Tollymore Forest Park and a short drive into Newcastle. It has beautiful gardens and a lovely view of the mountains. Maureen is a really warm and friendly host, who made us feel at home straight away. The rooms are... More

Stayed over the period of the Irish Open, had a really great time, Maureen was a superb host sorting taxis out for our trips to the course. Rooms were excellent and the breakfast is 1st class. If you needed anything staff would do anything to get it for you. I would recommend a stay here as I will be back again

We arrived gone 9pm, admittedly we didn't call ahead to say we would be arriving late, but didn't think it would be an issue. Upon arriving we were greeted in the most unpleasant way which made us feel like naughty children and like we had totally inconvenienced the owner. The lady owner went on and on that we hadn't provided... More

Thank you for your review of The Briers Country House B&B. Whilst we would have preferred to have known your ETA; the tour operator failed to pass along your email address to us. This would have allowed our expectations to have been managed. We encourage breakfast ordering the evening before to keep in line with The Green Tourism Board as... More

Have just spent a lovely one night stay at this hotel. we were made very welcome by Maureen The bedroom was newly refurbished and the bed itself was the most comfortable I have ever slept in when away from home bar none. The room was very comfortable and cosy as during the stay the weather was not very nice, but... More

With a wedding to attend, my husband and I stayed one night at Briers. Our room was gorgeous, the bed was the most comfortable ever, the en-suite bathroom was amazing! Lovely choices for breakfast, and it set us up for the rest of the day. With the tranquility of the Mourne mountains, and spectacular views, it was the perfect Country... More
