Needed a room for one night after playing Royal County Down golf course. They took my credit card over the phone, but neglected to tell me they don't accept credit cards, forcing me to hustle to find cash in the morning. Room was basic, not so clean, worn and faded. Used little soaps left in shower, no bath mat, moldy... more

We had a wonderful welcoming weekend at the Golf Links, clean and cosy rooms with fresh towels each day. We had freshly prepared fruit each morning followed by an Ulster Fry, they couldnt have done more for us. They also very kindly prepared a substantial packed lunch for our hike on Slieve Donard and were very interested to hear about... more

Our room was clean and tidy and the bathroom had recently been updated. The service was excellent and the owner attentive to our needs, providing wonderful pack lunches for our walk up Slieve Donnard. For the price (£60 for a double room including breakfast), this hotel provides very good value for money. Not five star, but not five star prices... more

The impression from the web site was that it was a reasonably cute and well turned out establishment. Unfortunately that really does nt describe Golf Links House. The rooms were dirty and certainly in need of modernisation. The bathroom floor was black with dirt after lifting up a cleanish towel. There is something wrong with an establishment if they cant... more

My first impresion was not great as when I phoned tosay I would be checking in late I was quizzed by theowner as to why I couldn't get there earlier. Never the less I honoured the booking made. During my stay I was not over impressed with the... more

First impressions were good but on closer inspection the rooms were unkempt. Rubbish not belonging to myself was found under the bed and in the drawers etc.. The guesthouse is in a good location-just a short walk into the town. After ordering breakfast, it appeared in super quick time which makes me thik it was microwaved!!( All i could hear... more

I was a single traveler with a tour group that booked into this place. My single room was drab and dirty. After the room had been made up two days in a row and the bed cover still looked rumpled, I complained to the housekeeper who was incensed that I would question the cleanlines of the room, even after I... more

We visit family in Newcastle every summer and have stayed at the Golf Links for the past 4 or 5 years. I can't believe that no-one has actually written a review about it previously, including myself! It's a very friendly family run business. All rooms are en-suite some with lovely views over the Royal County Down golf course. The breakfast... more
